We enjoyed everything about our dinner from the cocktails to the focaccia the entrées and the dessert. I had the hot and unbothered lemon cello margarita. It was absolutely delicious. As was the focaccia dripping in lemon butter and cheese. My Bronzino was cooked perfectly and was very tasty. The desserts were enormous, which had we known we would’ve ordered one. I thought the lemon tart (really a giant slice of lemon meringue pie) was fabulous. Our server was excellent and attentive. All of the staff was.

I visited the Bar Room at The Modern for my 50th birthday -- a solo celebration and it was absolutely perfect. The staff, food and ambiance were incredible. Definitely order the 'ants on a log' sundae. You will not be disappointed!

Everything was incredible at La Grande Boucherie! The food was absolutely delicious, and everything was beautifully prepared. I loved the atmosphere, the service, and the whole experience. Everything was perfect from start to finish. I would definitely come back again! ❤️

I wanted a Michelin-starred dining experience, but because I love to cook, I was more interested in experiencing the working kitchen than sitting in the dining room. The Kitchen Table at The Modern was exactly what I hoped for. From the moment I arrived, the reception was warm and gracious. At 5:00 PM, our captain, Steve, escorted my friend and me into the kitchen. I actually got goose bumps walking in. I waved to the chefs, and they all waved back. It immediately felt welcoming. Steve was exceptional—classy, professional, courteous, and so friendly that he made us feel like friends. He even brought out a Polaroid camera, took photos of us, and left it at the table to use during the evening. The Kitchen Table seats only four, and that night it was just the two of us. From our seats we could watch multiple stations at work. Even with a separate party of 55 being catered, the kitchen felt calm, organized, and beautifully orchestrated. Each chef came to our table to introduce and explain the dish, and we could ask questions, including how they recommended we eat it. The food was extraordinary. The first bite of tuna, radish, and shiso in a tiny pastry shell exploded with flavor. The lobster with green tomato and frozen cucumber was remarkable. “Eggs on Eggs on Eggs” was classic and beautiful. The Hokkaido scallop was so perfectly cooked that I told Steve I felt I could practically digest it with my tongue. The duck, lamb, and desserts were equally delicious. The pacing was relaxed. Despite sitting in a working kitchen, my friend and I could actually have a conversation. It almost felt like being in someone’s home while they prepared an extraordinary dinner for us. At the end, Steve gathered the chefs with us for photos. It was the perfect ending. I loved the food, the kitchen, and the warmth of the entire experience. There is nothing I would change. Worth the cost? Definitely.
