An executive chef does not praise lightly — I notice everything. For my wife's 50th birthday, The Capital Grille at 200 Park Avenue was flawless: crisp calamari, bright tuna tartare, a dry aged porterhouse and a porcini-crusted bone-in ribeye cooked exactly right, and a coconut cream pie to finish. Our server, Petrit Rragami, is a master craftsman — every chef would be proud to have him on his team. He made my wife feel truly celebrated, and the attention to her birthday was extra special. Most importantly, he asked about my food allergies first, coordinated with the kitchen, and protected me from cross-contamination all night. I ate a full celebratory dinner with absolutely no allergic reaction — the first time in a long time. Exclusive service, beautiful food, attention to every detail.
