We had such a warm welcome on arrival by not just one member of staff but 2 as we entered the venue. We were seated straight away. We all had beef roast which I couldn't fault. Beef was plentiful and melted in your mouth. Extra gravy was requested and arrived immediately. Cauliflower cheese and a dish of mixed veg were in dishes and there was plenty for the four of us. We were asked a couple of times through our meal if everything was ok, which was nice. Three of us enjoyed dessert which were all lovely. We then moved outside with our drinks (wine was delicious)and was such a bonus as a singer came on who was really good. We all really enjoyed our time with you! Thank you The Stag! I had the minute steak, 2 in our party had Crab linguine and 1 had South African Durban curry. 2 of the party had never been before and said they were very impressed and would return. Mum was very surprised when a board piped with happy birthday came out with a pot of chocolate mousse. Lovely touch. A variety of indoor and outdoor eating spaces but the best is simply sitting at one of the bench tables right on the bank of the river. Go on a sunny day in midweek and revel in the tranquility of it all.
