Best Gastro Pubs in Ipswich, Norfolk/Suffolk

I booked a table for 4 for a friends 60th on Sunday. We had such a warm welcome on arrival by not just one member of staff but 2 as we entered the venue. We were seated straight away. We all had beef roast which I couldn't fault. Beef was plentiful and melted in your mouth. Extra gravy was requested and arrived immediately. Cauliflower cheese and a dish of mixed veg were in dishes and there was plenty for the four of us. We were asked a couple of times through our meal if everything was ok, which was nice. Three of us enjoyed dessert which were all lovely. We then moved outside with our drinks (wine was delicious)and was such a bonus as a singer came on who was really good. We all really enjoyed our time with you! Thank you The Stag! Everything was just perfect!

Lovely pub with super ambience and helpful staff. Great parking for my elderly mum and was a lovely interior. Food was very good although my Caesar salad was rather drenched in dressing but still overall very yummy.

Great meal and excellent experience - highly recommended.

Our Sunday lunch was absolutely delicious. The menu catered to all if our (quite complicated) needs and all the food was simply great. But the thing we really want to comment on is your fabulous team. They were all really terrific. Great menu and wine knowledge, super warm and friendly, and my gluten-free husband was beautifully and professionally looked after perfectly. All of that, combined with a fabulous sea-facing location, made everything five-star for us. The only (minuscule) complaint is that we were sat under a speaker meaning my elderly Mum had to keep adjusting her hearing aids.But that certainly won’t stop us coming back - a fabulous lunch experience, thank you!
