Zeret itself is a name that comes from a small village in northern Ethiopia, and the menu includes mostly chicken, lamb and beef stews made with butter, garlic and ginger served on pancake-like flatbread called enjera. All the food here is delicious, and the dining room is decorated with colourful placemats, potted palms and simple white walls.     Brilliant place. Found it as a last minute booking for my wife and I during the recent heatwave so it was quite quiet! Service was attentive and friendly but not at overbearing. Real family style atmosphere. Food was delicious! We had the set meal for two because we were being lazy and were very hungry. It was a huge amount of food but well thought out and very very tasty. If you like relaxed, unpretentious vibes, good food and excellent service, go!

    We love Beza! Injera made with teff flour, so good for coeliacs, and also brilliant for vegan friends. Servings are generous, and they bring extra injera if you run out. This part of Elephant and Castle has been transformed, and it’s great to see Beza as part of that. Not part of a chain, so a proper local restaurant.
