This was a fantastic event at Tamayo, Chef Richard Sandoval was a fantastic story teller and was basking in his signature restaurant founded 25 years ago in 2004. I have personally been coming to Tamayo for all of those 25 years. I have never been disappointed in the service and quality of the food and drink, and last night for the celebration of the Dia de los Muertos. Special drinks, food and stories from Chef were all on the menu and the applause for Chef Sandoval’s staff was refreshing. Great night and great times had by all.

Everything was a delight. Our favorites were the Ny strip taco and the sweet potato appetizer (spicy!) but the caesar was also a fun surprise. It was big and had more of a honey mustard dressing with a caesar tang but still delicious.

Wow! We had the best service, the ambiance is amazing, they have a great Happy Hour 3-6, including mocktails, and you can't go wrong with any of their tacos. I had the Birriaha (sp?) and my friend the pork shoulder and we were both blown away. It's no wonder this restaurant has a bib gourmand Mich Star recommendation!

Our server Alec was great! He’s super attentive and knowledgeable. And was able to modify any drink or dinner items.

Delicious tacos served family style. The tacos come deconstructed and each diner constructs their own. A bit noisy in the restaurant (as many are these days). If the weather is nice (as it was for us) there is a patio that is much more quiet. After your dinner, highly recommend the Churros for dessert. Truly excellent.
