Tacos La 36 brings real Mexican energy to the middle of Midtown. On West 36th Street where the tacos are street-style, the margaritas keep coming, and the room is built for people who showed up together.

Start with lunch. Our $25 prix fixe is the move when you have an hour and want it to count: one appetizer, one entrée, and a margarita included.

After work, Happy Hour runs 4–7pm — tacos, shareable bites, and drinks priced so you don’t have to negotiate the second round.

Tuesday is the night the neighborhood actually has a plan: $3 tacos, $6 tequila shots, $9 margaritas.

Weekends we drop the office mood entirely. Live Mexican brunch, banda, and a table that does not stay seated for long.

watch party grossly overpriced...wings were precooked and were soggy... 20% tip is a minimum, but you have the obligation to tell people it's automatically included

We had a reservation which was not honored. I understand places can get crowded during games however there were many tables of people without reservations that just sat down. Secondly, gratuity is auto added and not told to patrons when paying.

I made a reservation a week in advance and even called ahead to confirm that it included a table and that our reservation time was valid. The person I spoke with assured me that everything was set. When we arrived 20 minutes early, we were told there were no tables available for the rest of the night. Despite explaining that we had a reservation and had specifically confirmed it was for a table, the staff repeatedly responded with, “standing room only.” The restaurant did not honor our reservation. We made the reservation because we wanted a place to sit, eat, and enjoy drinks. If standing was the only option, we would have chosen somewhere else. It felt like a bait-and-switch: reservations were accepted to get people in the door, but the promised seating was not available. Very disappointing experience. Would absolutely not book because it means nothing.

Waitresses are extremely rude; they do not honor any reservations or their word for that matter when seating people. People that showed up late were sat in better accomodations rather than people with prior reservations. Biggest problem was the waitresses who apporached out group as if there was a problem when we asked a question regarding our order, which was only asked beacuse another waitor told us the wrong information (which was fine), but waitress approached it with extreme rudeness and hostility. Such a shame.

their online happy hour menu is not the same as the happy hour menu they provide in the restaurant, which in my opinion is a bait and switch. I went for taco happy hour, all tacos were listed as having happy hour prices online, come to find out only two types of tacos were actually on the happy hour menu. the owner did not care when this was brought to their attention. we had to repeatedly ask the waitress for more water., despite the restaurant not being busy. we ended getting the steak and al pastor tacos, both were not great, the steak was chewy and there just wasn’t very much flavor for either taco. guacamole was okay, too much lime, but good enough, the elote ribs were great and the hot sauce bar was a nice touch. I was hoping for the place to be better, I would not got back, there is much better mexican food in NYC.
