It was disappointing . The Esplanade clearly hadn’t anticipated the crowd or their patronage. There were meals that were ordered and never received; we were advised that two meals had run out - bangers and mash and the rump steak forcing us to buy more expensive meals . The overall experience was ordinary but the meals we had were fairly good . I asked to speak to a manger or supervisor which were suspiciously unavailable at the time of paying . I would t recommend this place to others .

Table service a little slow. 20 minutes before our order was taken. Food came out pretty quickly though and was quite good. Colouring sheet menus a nice touch for kids but had to ask for pencils and then had to ask for a sharpener as most blunt or broken. Overall good food but maybe not enough wait staff?

The parma was a bit overcooked and dry. Service was great though. The bowl of vegetables that l had were perfect and crunchy. Just the way l like them. l would come back again and try something different.

We ate the fish tacos and the steak . The food was very good. The Service is very friendly. They served us quickly. Everything came quite timely even though they were busy. The staff is young but look like they’ve been trained properly. I didn’t find any flaws in the occasion. I had a very pleasant evening out with my daughter. The tacos might’ve been $24 in the steak $50 but we shared it which was definitely enough food. I’ll go back.

We visited the Esplanade Hotel last night, and unfortunately, the food was a bit of a disappointment. The fish tacos were amazing, as always, but sadly, that was where the good experience ended. The garlic prawns were tragically overcooked. For the price, receiving just three prawns on a stick that were rubbery, tough and almost inedible was really disappointing. My husband ordered a burger, and we couldn't help noticing that everyone else's burgers were served on large plates with chips and salad, looking like a decent-sized meal. His, on the other hand, arrived on what looked like a small Chinese-style plate, with just a burger and a tiny handful of chips. It looked more like a child's meal. It also appeared to be missing some of the advertised ingredients, including tomato and cos lettuce. It was particularly strange to see such a difference between his meal and the burgers being served to other diners. We went out specifically to enjoy a nice meal without having to cook, so it was frustrating to spend the money and come away so disappointed. It's especially disappointing as locals who have enjoyed coming here. I think we'll stick to ordering the fish tacos from now on. It's a real shame that an otherwise enjoyable local venue can leave you feeling so let down by the food.
