Capilungo in London is a special place inspired by the cafes of southern Italy, especially our hometown of Lecce. We are a family business that started in 1991 and recently opened our first international location in Covent Garden last year.

During the day, we are a cozy cafe/ brunch and at night, we transform into a lively wine and cocktail bar. Our focus is on serving authentic food and drinks made with great ingredients, care for where they come from, and flavors that reflect the season. One of our most famous items is the 'Pasticciotto' pastries filled with delicious creams.

My favourite place to eat in London. Food was excellent and staff are so friendly and welcoming . Gavi wine was so good.

Very disappointing. From arriving to be met by a manager/head waiter who really wasn’t interested in us, that we had a booking and when we asked to sit downstairs (the main dining area for lunch), he said why bother as we’d be there alone (three table of people were down there, once we persuaded him to seat us there). We ordered the venison carpaccio, the meatballs and the duck and pasta. The meatballs were cold from kitchen to table, sent them back for them to be heated in the microwave (heard the ping), they came back a texture no one should eat, the duck and pasta was ok, the venison was nice but portion ridiculous for the price. The negronis were good but lacked any ice. A different manager then took the meatballs off our bill and was more friendly than the first so he made a difference but by then we were pleased to leave. We hoped to spend a leisurely lunch there, I’d had high hopes as the Instagram page makes Capilungo look inviting, welcoming and fun to go and spend time there.

Always eat here when in Covent Garden. So convenient for the Royal Opera House. Brunch menu and pasticiotti are gorgeous.

The eggs were over cooked and there was almost no stracciatella in my dish, also the waiters were pushing for us to get coffee

Enjoyed our lunch and very appreciative that we were allowed to chat for so long. However once we’d ordered it took a long time for our simple meals to arrive.
