Nestled in Binfield Heath near Henley-on-Thames, Orwells is led by Michelin-starred chefs Ryan Simpson and Liam Trotman. Our focus is on showcasing the finest seasonal ingredients—sourced locally and beyond—through refined, honest cooking that lets the produce shine.

Blending a rural ethos with modern techniques, our kitchen delivers elegant yet approachable dishes. Orwells is proudly featured in all major dining guides and has held 4 AA Rosettes for nine consecutive years, reflecting our commitment to excellence.

Lovely meal. Came for a relaxed Sunday lunch and Orwells certainly delivered. Beautiful wines. Lovely menu. And the portions for the Sunday lunch were quite large. We really enjoyed our visit and need to come back to try the regular menu.

Food great - Sunday lunch. Olde worlde pub - lovely. Service was very friendly and staff helpful but totally chaotic. Too many staff not sure what they were doing nor what the others were doing. Perhaps service area needs slight tweaking ?

Outstanding restaurant! Staff were so amazing and knowledgeable, made us feel like we were already regulars on our first visit. The atmosphere was so relaxing, with an amazing view in their comfortable lounge while you wait to go to your table. And this is all before getting to the food. My goodness. 3 full courses of the most delicious combination of flavours that you could wish for. The fresh English asparagus in that week was a testament to their use of fresh, high quality produce. The melt in your mouth honey cake makes me want to order 4 more. Truly, couldn't recommend this place enough. Our first vist and we will be coming back many more. Thank you team for a wonderful experience.

All round excellent, from the meet and greet and attentive , but not intrusive service, to the delicious dishes and superb, well balanced wine list.

The food was good but it is pricey. Very disappointed with our table which was effectively in a corridor with staff and other guests passing all the time. If you’re close to the bar it’s also very noisy. We asked for a move but it wasn’t possible. Service was slow - two and a half hours for two courses. We’ve been here before and had better experiences. I don’t want to pay London prices for a special occasion meal that wasn’t very special after all.

Service was very friendly and attentive, delightful. The food is exquisite, every detail, every course with amuse bouche and delicious sweets to end on. Definitely will be returning!!

We went for lunch on a Friday to celebrate my partners birthday and it was wonderful. The atmosphere and decor is lovely, the staff are warm and passionate and the food is amazing! We can’t wait to go back to Orwells!
