The best of the best eats if you will. Lighter dishes with natural reductions, a lot of vinaigrettes, less cream, less butter — but unbelievable flavors. The name Sarita is a nod to Chef Anthony Romano’s mentor, plus the name of a song by the New Orleans band, The Subdudes, one of the chef’s favorites. The restaurant is owned by executive chef Romano.     We enjoyed dinner at Amazonia on a Tuesday evening and loved the wood fired pizzas and the orchard salad and the meatballs. We weren’t crazy about the specialty drinks, but probably because we are not so adventurous in that arena. It has a cute patio, which unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy due to the cooler weather but would be great on a warmer evening. Service was terrific, our server was efficient, personable and patient with us as we were taking our time. The only suggestion I would have is to expand the menu with a few more dinner options.

    First time back to Rood in awhile and it was so impressive! I love the way this place continues to evolve. The street corn ravioli was outstanding, I want to go back and get it now. I was also such a big fan of the banana brandy pie they used to have (we served it at our wedding) and they brought back it back in the form of a banana sesame pie and it is divine! Shout out to our server Angela, she was also attentive, helpful and Fun. This visit reminded me why I’m so grateful to have Rood in our community, doing things right and continuing to surprise me.
