Built in 1880, The Inn was at one time a brothel, until it was raided by federal officers. The Inn was a favorite site of cowboys and teamsters, who appreciated the fine foods and jovial atmosphere.Over 100 years later, the Inn at Tres Pinos is now a San Benito County Historical Landmark, carefully restored by owner, Mike Howard. The ambiance is intimate, rustic, and elegant. It’s country with a touch of class, and decorated in a style that is a reflection of Mike’s personal interest. Mike's grandfather taught him the the art of fly-fishing, and every year the family still fishes together at the Big Wood River in Sun Valley, Idaho. Mike married Mary along the Big Wood River in 2010, and the Inn has become a true family affair. Mike’s philosophy is “Keep it fresh and keep it simple.” His staff is personally hand picked and will make every effort to meet your expectations. The Inn at Tres Pinos is the only four-star restaurant in San Benito Country.

    Everything about this place is fantastic. Food, service, ambiance. Our server Beige ( spelling) was extremely friendly and helpful. The owner is very hands on, super warm and welcoming. Feels like you’re having a big dinner party at their house. All the servers and associates were fantastic as well. Top it off with a great meal at very reasonable prices and you can’t go wrong. Have already made several reservations for return dates.

    The Inn at Tres Pinos is an amazing restaurant! The food is delicious, as the chef is creative and most talented. Our server was extremely attentive, as was the rest of the staff. The chef even made a meal for my husband which was not on the menu! The Inn at Tres Pinos is one of our favorite restaurants in the area!

    My husband and I celebrated our anniversary with lunch at Schooner’s and it was perfect. We had a table outside overlooking the water. We ordered Shrimp tempura, Seafood Tostada, Garlic Parm Fries and a salad. Everything was delicious. We will definitely be back when in Monterey.
