The food was good. However the service was bad - now this is supposed to be a Michelin star'ed restaurant i have had better service in a pizza chain. Basically as soon as you put your chopsticks down stuff was being taken away. They even stood over my husband waiting for him to finish! We had only been there 30mins or so when this happened. Half way through my desert on the set menu - i paused and it was whipped away ...was quite laughable if it wasn't so expensive. A guy next to me got nice service from someone not the restaurant waiting staff so made us feel even more just a number waiting to move us on. Cocktails were crazy expensive - maybe £25 i cant remember before service. Very dark - people had their phones on to read the menu! So all in all we won't be returning. It wasn't absolutely terrible as the food was tasty but honestly hundreds of places to go that are better than this!

We tried the Taste of Hakkasan menu and it was really good. The dim sum is amazing—so tasty that you should just order it twice instead of sharing. The salad was okay, but the dim sum is way better. For the main dishes, we had beef and pork. Both were really good and had a special kind of sauce that made them stand out. It was nice to finally eat dishes that taste like they're supposed to, not like cheaper versions you get at other places. The rice was also great. You get one pot of rice and a plate of asparagus with the menu, but I wished there was more rice because it was so good. One thing to note is that the restaurant is in a basement down a kind of sketchy alley. At first, I thought we were lost until I saw the menu on the wall. The place is also really dark inside. There's one bright light on each table, but everything else is dim. The waiters wear dark clothes, so they surprised me a couple of times.

Wonderful evening of superlative food & attentive service! From the welcoming ladies on reception, to the restaurant service, the exquisite food (early evening “experience” menu) and don’t even get me started on the Lychee Martinis(!), the whole experience was a taste & service sensation! I was even sent a voucher for a complimentary glass of champagne on my next visit! An outstanding evening..10/10 Hakkasan!

The service and food was great, but the portion sizes were way too small. We left hungry. The drinks were also ridiculous prices. Champagne was £23 a glass and £135 a bottle (for ones you can buy for £40 a bottle at the shop).

Not enough room between tables. Set menu, Starters great, but the mains took ages, so long that we finished a bottle of wine. We asked for another even though we thought it was not finished, were poured a glass. The mains - chicken dry, rice not hot arrived , the other mains were served much much later. the waiters to busy to refill our glasses, meanwhile most of our main was eaten ..."waiter wine?", but wine was missing... will bring another... we decided not, evening spoilt, we did not finish the mains, declined the desserts. Service used to be great, it was what was made Hakkasan outstanding, our experience was very poor. Have been coming to Hakkasan since it opened... what has happened!! OMG

Poor service with very high service charge Misunderstansing re booking of taste of hakassan deal Waiter made me get up and talk to the person in charge. Left me standing there for 5mins while he confirmed the booking has been made No apology or compensation. Spoilt the evening. We were interrupted numerous times throughout the meal

Just to expensive for just nice food but not worth the money that they’re charging for. I booked a special 3 course meal though seven rooms for a special night between me & my partner. Once I received my 3 course meal it was apparently a tester 3 course meal & not the original size. I won’t book though seven rooms any more. This is the second time that i receive a discount email from then & I end up paying over £225 for two people without any alcohol… no wine! Just water!

We love the food and drinks here and come quite regularly but there was an issue with the bill. A large £100 deposit had already been taken at time of booking even though we are only a couple. This has happened before and we are not happy that it happened again. We had to prove the deposit wasn’t just on hold or pending as it was actually taken again. The staff were very helpful and pleasant but we were embarrassed by it. The assistant manager offered us his card but really he should be writing to us. Removal of the small service charge was not enough for the aggravation and upset let alone the time, as we then had to run to the theatre show!

We arrived at 10.40pm and the kitchen had closed however they let us know which dishes were available and we were seated. The staff looked after us kindly and didn’t rush us out the restaurant. Thank you for accommodating us. Great food many thanks.

We loved the exciting and romantic interior at Hanway Place, but the cuisine fell short of expectations. For instance, the crispy duck salad -- one of our favorites at the former Hakkasan in New York, which sadly has closed -- lacked the umami zing we had grown to love, and the duck itself lacked the advertised crispness. The stir fried rib eye with Merlot was just okay. The side of baby broccoli was our favorite dish, even we were unable to detect the preserved olive and the dish was a bit too salty for our taste. The baked dim sum platter that we began the meal with was a visual treat, and service throughout the meal was attentive and friendly.

We booked the taste menu, but when we got there one of the party had a food intolerance - the server offered no alternatives or flexibility so they had to order similar items from the menu but at over twice the cost. One meal cost £50 and one cost over £150 for the same items. It felt you were being penalised for having one food intolerance. Low value for money there are so many better places nearby.
