My first time at Mateo will not be my last. I’m a huge fan of tapas style dining and Mateo set the bar high for others to follow. Funky, cheerful vibe. Helpful front-of-the-house hostess. Well trained and attentive wait staff. And someone in the kitchen knows what they are doing when it comes Spanish tapas and wines. I actually had to give the chefs a shout-out while there for their take on brussels sprouts with crispy, shredded duck and cherry gastrique. Their chorizo is imported from Spain as is the Serrano ham. They are the real deal. I also got one of the sweet potato hand pies with mascarpone as a take home. Delicious. Highly recommended. W

The food was awesome and the waiter gave us a wonderful experience. The waiter knew the menu and gave us great recommendations. I would definitely recommend this place again

There are no negatives in this review. Our waiter, Michael, was attentive and efficient. We asked him about the history of the building, and he knew all the details of it! Our food was superb, as usual. We dine here often and bring others.
