Best Restaurants with a Fireplace in City Island

We’re so lucky to have a place like this in the neighborhood. You can genuinely taste the love in every dish — the menu is thoughtfully curated and executed perfectly. The wait staff are fantastic: warm, attentive, and clearly proud of what they do. Highly recommend.

We were seated in the back room, which was very nice and quiet. The main room can get noisy. Service was on point and attentive. Shared the pear salad that was very nice and refreshing. The orichette (sp?) with seafood special was quite good, as was the ravioli special, filled with prosciutto and melon. Another very nice dinner.

I love this place! The food is really good (you must try the roasted carrots). All of the people there are super nice and our waitress Angie was very attentive. It has a cool vibe - the room with the bar feels like you’re away in the Berkshires. Also love that they have live music in the cozy room with the fireplace.

My family and I had a great time at Sammy’s. The restaurant offers a wide variety of menu options, making it a great place for people of all ages. The main dishes were delicious and came in very generous portions. The serving sizes were so large that my family and I were able to share plates and still have plenty of leftovers to take home. We ordered the brisket, ribs, and shrimp, and all three were excellent. The only feedback I have regarding the shrimp is that, while they were a great size, they could have used a little more seasoning. The ribs and brisket were perfectly seasoned, tender, and flavorful. The ribs were so tender that you could cut them with a butter knife. The only downside was the side dishes. Unfortunately, they did not seem freshly made. The mac and cheese lacked flavor, the French fries tasted like frozen fries that had simply been fried, and the collard greens tasted canned or pre-packaged and did not contain any meat for added flavor. We also had corn on the cob, which was just average. On a positive note, the piña colada was excellent. It had the perfect balance strong enough to enjoy, but not overpowering, and not overly sweet. Overall, the main dishes and drinks made for a great dining experience. The large portions provide great value since you can share meals and still have leftovers for another meal later. If the restaurant improved the quality of its side dishes, it would be an even better experience.
