Fantastic service and meal here. Lovely staff and the food was exceptional. Couldn’t decide what to have so asked the lovely waitress. She said the signature chicken pie was the most popular dish….. oh my, I’m glad I took her advice…It was sublime! If you can’t decide what to have, then go for this. The crispy chicken skin accompaniment was so delicious, the pastry thin and crispy and stuffed full wth moist chicken. Beautiful creamy sauce with the loviest mash and roasted vegetables . It’s a large portion, so be prepared.

Yet another outstanding lunch and first class dining experience at the Poet, this time the chocolate week menu. The foie gras starter was melt in the mouth and sooo tasty, leaving you eagerly awaiting the next course. The main of octopus and scallops was the best octopus dish I have ever had - soo good. The multi taster chocolate dessert plate was beautifully presented and a great way to round off an outstanding lunch. Beautifully presented, sumptuous food and the usual highly impressive, impeccable service from engaging staff, this time led by Poppy. We will be back as soon as we can.

My Wife and I went to The Moody Mare in Wrotham yesterday for the first time. The food and service were exceptional. One of the best Gastro Pub meals we’ve had. Proper size portions. Even the music that was playing was brilliant. We would certainly recommend this Gastro Pub & we’re definitely coming back.

Always a great evening in this village pub….great people in the pub and staff are very attentive giving a great feel to the pub. Very dog friendly as we visited with two dogs

We love going to the Star and Eagle. The food is absolutely delicious and everyone is very friendly and welcoming. We will be back many a times!
