Best Restaurants for Quiet Conversation in Daly City

I was very happy to learn of this excellent restaurant close to the opera, symphony, ballet, sfjazz, etc. It is in the same block at Rich Table, so easy walking distance to the civic center. The food is a fusion of middle eastern, Japanese, and whatever else seems to inspire this creative chef. The service was excellent, and the wine list was well chosen with wines at various price levels. My impression is that this restaurant is not yet well know, having opened only two years ago. But it certainly seems worthy of earning a valued place among the restaurants near the performing arts venues. I will certainly be back soon.

The setting was lovely - like a romantic villa in Italy - and the service impeccable. But the real standout was the food. We started with the Insalata di Finocchio e Arancia and Insalate Riviera, both perfect balances of freshness and flavors. Then the showstoppers: Salmon with olive tapenade and housemade Fettuccine alle Vongole with homemade bread. And finishing the evening with an Affogato and the lightest Tiramisu ever. Bravo Chef!
