Best Restaurants for People Watching in Downtown St. Louis

Food was excellent, service impeccable, atmosphere amazing. Bar Italia always excels on all levels.

Went as a party of 6 for my birthday, we were seated right away and the server was there with in seconds getting our drink orders! Atmosphere was excellent! Everyone ordered different daily specials and they were fabulous! I ordered the ribs and they were the meatiest I have ever had. Scallops were perfect so was the steak. It’s not a cheap place but so worth it. Will be coming back often. The bartender, she’s the best!!!!

5 stars — Perfect birthday celebration Celebrated our birthdays at Brasserie by Niche and it could not have been better. The service was excellent from start to finish — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling stiff or overdone. The food was fantastic across the board. We started with the escargot and the bread, both fantastic, then moved on to the French onion soup — rich, cheesy, everything you want it to be. The beef special was the standout of the night, cooked perfectly and full of flavor. What really made it special was how the whole team seemed invested in making our night memorable. It’s rare to find a restaurant that balances a lively, high-energy atmosphere with that level of thoughtful, personal care. Highly recommend for a birthday or any celebration — we’ll definitely be back.
