Best Restaurants for Outdoor Dining in Aliso Viejo / Laguna Niguel

We LOVE 230 Forest Ave! The food is extraordinary, the service is extremely attentive and the prices are in line with its Lagun Beach location (i.e., not inexpensive)!

Absolutely amazing experience! The food was incredible and the service was impeccable from start to finish. We came here to celebrate our 15-year wedding anniversary, and the setting couldn’t have been more perfect. We had an incredible view of the ocean, and during dinner we even got to watch a bride having her wedding photos taken and another couple get engaged. It made an already special night feel even more memorable. Between the amazing food, outstanding service, beautiful atmosphere, and unbeatable ocean views, this was easily one of the highlights of our anniversary trip. I highly recommend Studio Mediterranean and would absolutely come back!

Yet another amazing meal at Nick’s in Laguna Beach. The staff there always remember us no matter how much time passes between our west coast visits throughout the year, the atmosphere is always quaint, romantic and has a great casual vibe. The food is always spectacular, especially the quality, taste and portion. Our service team, especially Aubrey, made us feel welcomed and special. We love the jalapeño watermelon margarita, petite bistro salad, and of course dessert. The banana cream pie is my wife’s fav.

We sat on the patio, which is obviously a beautiful setting! The service was impeccable and our server was lovely & efficient. We had the Gorgonzola & Granny Smith salad w/grilled chicken, and the Asian Chicken salad. Both were delicious. We each ordered wine and shared the specialty bread & butter. We topped off our meal with a Pot de Creme, which includes a yummy shortbread lavender cookie. All in all an unexpectedly delightful lunch! I only wish we lived closer.

We were in Laguna for a quick trip and decided to take advantage of the beautiful views and Pacific Ocean while here. We reserved a patio spot on Open Table a few days before. Service is caring and friendly. We parked at metered parking along S Coast Highway and walked to restaurant, entering street side. There is also parking in a very small lot for customers directly behind the restaurant. The food was wonderful! Exactly what we wanted for a decadent Sunday brunch, listening to the ocean waves. We ordered: - Cappuccino x3 (2 regular, 1 with oat milk) - Oeufs Et Pain Perdu - (5/5) Two eggs, smoked bacon or sausage and French toast stuffed with cream cheese and orange marmalade. (Hold the eggs for me so they added an extra sausage). Mmmm - so delicious. The side potatoes are also amazingly good. The sausage they use is different from what I'm used to and I liked it better. - Santa Fe Omelette (GF) (5/5) - Hot and Spicy! Egg omelette with diced jalapeños, cilantro, tomatoes, onion, Jack cheese and spicy chipotle chili sauce. Daughter said this had some heat but she likes spicy. Crave-worthy fluffiest of omelettes. She loved it all and finished it. Also, she's celiac sensitive and it's gluten free like several items on the menu. Served with potatoes. Served with shrimp add $4.95. My other daughter tried this. Overall she liked it but disappointed the poached egg yolks were a little too done. She likes them runnier, not congealed and solid. She also mentioned the croissant seemed a little stale. Agreed the potatoes were amazing. Men's and women's restrooms located down a small flight of stairs in a hallway that leads out to the back parking lot and beach. Patio is also a short climb up a staircase. Main floor can be reached without stairs if you enter street-side.
