Set in the centre of the main street of the historic market town of Clitheroe, the Swan and Royal in a former coaching inn dating back to the 1830s.In its earlier years as a hostelry, it boasts guests both famous and some say infamous, in the local area and throughout the country. You can stay in rooms named after a selection of the most interesting of these people. After the fire, the Swan and Royal has undergone a major refurbishment, keeping its original character and still making it a warm and friendly place to eat and drink.     We booked for my fiancés birthday, a nice meal in a nice country pub, it did not dissapoint the food was great but the staff were lovely, accommodating, friendly, we retired to the pub area for a drink and desert as it was a lovely cozy friendly atmosphere. We will definitely be returning, great place.

    Our first visit to the Freemason's since moving to the Ribble Valley was an absolute delight. The welcome on arrival was terrific. The staff were attentive throughout and good fun. The food was simply outstanding. A perfect Sunday lunch!
