Located at Atherton Mill in Charlotte's historic South End neighborhood, Indaco (Italian for "indigo") serves Italian cuisine. Wood-fired pizzas, hand-crafted pastas, housemade salami and cured sausages fill the restaurant's menu which can be enjoyed family-style or a la carte. With an open kitchen, and a comfortable atmosphere, Indaco can seat approximately 85 guests inside for a casual night of food and drinks. Chef Ford Fry and Chef Kevin Maxey, together designed a “Mex-Tex” menu that plays to their own Texan roots, tracing the beginnings of the cuisine to the 1930s, when Mexican cooks first doctored up their dishes to suit a “Gringo” palate with Americanized elements, giving birth to the Tex-Mex dialogue. “Kevin and I wanted to do food we like to eat,” Fry said. “It’s natural for a chef to want to be true to a certain culture, and likewise, we wanted to do authentic Tex-Mex, because it developed where we’re from.”

    Our waiter was absolutely fantastic. We were in town to tour apartments relocating to Charlotte. He gave us the Charlotte inside scoop about where to live and places to visit! Wish that I remembered his name, but he was absolutely fantastic! Food was superb and cheap! This will definitely be a regular spot for us when we relocate to Charlotte!

    I made dinner reservations last night to celebrate our dear friend on her recent approval of U.S. citizenship. The restaurant & staff far exceeded our expectations and made the night one we won't forget. A huge thank you to AnnaLisa & our server, Kiera for your warm welcome & superb hospitality.     The food and drinks are always delicious there. The service is great too! They gave me a free dessert for my birthday! We always go there when we are seeing a play at Blumenthal because they validate your parking and it’s a great way to start our evening!
