Beautiful and friendly independent spot, with a welcoming team, great food and wonderful views. Really family friendly, but perfect for an intimate meal for two as well. Arrive with an empty stomach - you will want space for a dessert.

Hibiki seemed the most authentic informal Japanese restaurant I have visited. I had booked seats at the bar for a quick dinner with my son before a concert. The restaurant is small and feels relaxed. I chose tako karaage and prawn okonomiyaki, both dishes that were new to me. Both were excellent. The octopus was young and tender. The okonomiyaki was exactly what I expected after reading descriptions online, a crispy exterior with a pleasantly gooey centre and a great balance of sweetness and umami. My son chose vegetable gyoza and mirin beef ramen. he enjoyed both. The service was warm and relaxed. I shall have to go back for the sushi.
