Our visit to Le Vieux Comptoir (not long after the first) ticked all the boxes. The ambience was most civilized, the service friendly and efficient, yet inobtrusive, while the food and wine set the seal on a pleasant and relaxing afternoon. We look forward to returning soon.

Absolutely superb authentic and long established French restaurant off Abbey Road in St John's Wood. Menu contains several signature dishes that are hard to improve on. I had the foie gras followed by the rack of lamb and a selection of divine french cheeses. Lovely ambience and friendly staff. Not cheap (mainly due to high end drink prices) but worth every penny.
