The Ottomans also increased the popularity of lamb. After the Ottomans were defeated in World War I (1914–1918), France took control of Lebanon until 1946, when the country won its independence. During this time, the French introduced some of their most widely eaten foods, particularly treats such as flan, a caramel custard dessert dating back to the 1500s, and buttery croissants.

    Fantastic neighborhood spot. This is an Eastern Mediterranean restaurant that I -- as someone from the Eastern Med can honestly say -- is as good or better than any other i have ever tried in London. That would be enough to make my family regulars. But on top of that the service (sorry I don't remember the name of the young lady who served us) was absolutely FANTASTIC. We felt like we were in our own home. And the ambiance was delightful. Cannot recommend enough, and we will be visiting again and again. Thank you!

    Very welcoming with lovely waiting staff. The menu was very comprehensive and we enjoyed our meal. Disappointed with the baklava though - as quite dry and not enough honey. Otherwise the food was good and the portions generous.
