- RRonLondon •1 review5.0Dined 4 days agoI have been coming to Yashin Ocean House for as long as it has been open and master sushi chef Shinya Ikeda is an artist! It is so hard in such a short review to explain how perfect this sushi restaurant is on every level! From the moment you are greeted at the door by the hostess, to the waiters and staff, everyone is a joy and makes you feel so comfortable and at home, whether you are dressed in your gym clothes (like I am on most days) casual jeans and a t-shirt or in fancier attire - you are always at home and made to feel that way. The menu has a constant stable of traditional favourites but also the master sushi chef, Shinya Ikeda keeps adding creative and dynamic options to the menu to make you feel like there is variety if you want to change up the traditional sushi options. I am a sushi purist and traditionalist who has been to Japan many times and has eaten in some of the world's best sushi restaurants over the past 30 years but time and time again when I am asked what is the best sushi restaurant you have eaten at and what would you recommend as the best sushi restaurant in London - I always come back to Yashin Ocean House and Sushi Chef Shinya Ikeda and his wonderful team - which can stand up to any Michelin guide or Michelin star rated sushi or Japanese establishment on a global scale. AT the end of the day you can dazzle dazzle people with fancy designs, gimmicks, views of mountains or oceans, beautiful people and interesting ideas but it all boils down to three things - the quality of the food (1,000,000 out of 10), the service you receive and the way you feel during and after the meal - Yashin Ocean House delivers perfection every time - time and time again - no matter what! This is a Rolls Royce or Ferrari of a restaurant with the reliability of a Mercedes or BMW - there is no comparable anywhere in London. I had a meal the other night with my son, who is becoming a major foodie and is a sushi aficionado like myself and he agreed Yashin is the best!More infoYashin Ocean House££££• Japanese• South Kensington•4.8
