Best Italian Restaurants in Washington Township

A buddy and I met for dinner after work Monday and settled into a table in Ambrosia’s bar, one of our favorite spots. We’ve become creatures of habit, but the bruschetta makes a persuasive argument against personal growth: toasted Tuscan bread, tomatoes, basil, olive oil and garlic. Why tamper with that? He followed with the Rustica pasta, a hearty combination of Italian sausage, peppers, onions and marinara. I had the grouper special with Sicilianna sauce and sautéed spinach over Parmesan risotto, an excellent reason to venture beyond my usual order. A lovely Italian Sauvignon Blanc rounded out the evening. Dave Butts’ service was stellar as always, and James, the assistant general manager, added to the warm welcome. Ambrosia Hospitality Group understands that a favorite restaurant earns its place through both the food and the people. This one keeps earning ours.

Great ambience, excellent professional service, delicious food and good wine & cocktails at a reasonable price. We had a memorable time and I will be back.

Tried Diavola for the first time last week, had to go back this week. Italian is my favorite cuisine and Diavola was a pleasant surprise. Great pizza with imaginative toppings, a nice fermented dough crust finished in a wood fired oven and very good pasta dishes. It went straight to the top of my list for Italian restaurants in Indianapolis. Of course the service is excellent too. Give them a try, you wont regret it.

Maggiano’s in Indy consistently delivers good food, and this visit was no exception. We had a party of five, and everyone left more than satisfied. One tip: stay away from the bread! It’s far too easy to fill up and ruin any chance of dessert. Consider yourself warned!

I had the stuffed pork chops with green beans and mashed potatoes. It was excellent. I could cut the pork chop with the fork and it just melted in my mouth. I would highly recommend it.
