And every once in a while, you leave wondering why every restaurant can’t operate at this level. A L’Ouest was one of those experiences. From the moment we walked in until the last bite, the service was as close to flawless as I’ve experienced in San Diego. Professional without being stuffy. Friendly without being overbearing. Every detail seemed intentional, yet effortless. The food? Spectacular. The steak may very well be the best I’ve had in San Diego. Perfectly cooked, unbelievably tender—literally cut-it-with-your-fork tender—and finished with a sauce that elevated it without hiding the quality of the meat. The burger wasn’t an afterthought either. It was one of those burgers that makes you stop talking for a minute because everyone at the table is too busy enjoying it. Rich, juicy, perfectly balanced, and absolutely worth ordering. The ravioli was outstanding, the grilled vegetables were beautifully prepared, the fries were crisp and addictive, and every plate that hit the table looked as good as it tasted. The beverages matched the food—creative, well-crafted, and top shelf. I always try to find something that could have been better. This time… I couldn’t. If I had to score it, it’s 6 out of 5 stars. San Diego has a lot of great restaurants. A L’Ouest belongs on the very short list of places I’ll enthusiastically recommend without hesitation—and I’ll be back.More infoA L’ouest$$$$• French• North Park•4.7

Being big fans of Callie, we weren't sure if we would be able to love this place as much, but Fleurette definitely won over our taste buds. The main dining room is gorgeous, but we sat on the patio, which has a very nice romance to it with nice seating and lots of greenery around it. The duck liver pate and steak tartar appetizers were outstanding. The pasta dish we shared was an amazing gnocchi with cherries that was shockingly good. The lamb and filet entrees had us swooning, with melt-in-your-mouth meat and incredible sauces. Desserts were divine, and the bartender makes some of the best Carajillos in town! Service provided by Kane & Marty was fantastic. Big winner!More infoFleurette$$$$• French• San Diego•4.8

It was our second time to Mister A's and we will be back. My wife is still talking about the pork chop and the Caesar salad.More infoMister A's$$$$• Contemporary French / American• Downtown•4.8

Highly recommend the Petite Filet Mignon Steak Frites and Coquilles St. Jacques. Wine selection was excellent. (Mostly French Wines) our server Jennifer was attentive, knowledge and friendly.
