A truly high-end dining experience, in a neighbourhood of Berlin (Lichterfelde) that mostly has somewhat dull family Italian, Thai or traditional German restaurants. As we'd not visited before, our charming server showed us into the "original" part of the womens' prison - now an artists' community. Then onto the garden - very quiet and peaceful. The food is excellent, based on very good ingredients, thoughtful flavour combinations and beautiful presentation. Superb service, from a very knowledgeable server, in both english and german. A really excellent evening - thank you.

The flavors Jonas Merold has created provide an exciting journey of new, exciting flavors all from locally-sourced, seasonal products. One dish is based on local herring that has been smoked in house on a mousse-like cream in a pastry shell, another course was a house-made bagel with three types of different of miso and a cream all of his own creation. The flavors are unique, unexpected and absolutely delicious. Every dish was exciting, as were the local wine and cider pairings to accompany each course. All was carefully explained and beautifully served. It is a most inspiring experience that uses ingredients like tea, cucumber, spelt, garbanzo bean cream in surprising ways. Everyone including every chef or home cook would be amazed at the possibilities Jonas demonstrates.
