We really enjoyed our meal at KUMO. In fact, we are going back tonight. Great ambience. The views of the night Carolina Puerto Rico and beach was gorgeous. The food is a gorgeous fusion of Peruvian and Japanese influences. My favorite was the squash and the branzino. The service was exceptional.

I am more than happy to report that my visit to this restaurant on my actual 50th birthday was far beyond exceptional. From the moment we stepped out of our car to be created by the valets who were more than helpful, guiding us into the venue because it had rained and also because of the gravel already set the scene. As we ventured in the beautiful hostess, acknowledged our reservation and sat us immediately. There was a engagement party going on which basically was the overall patrons of the restaurant. In addition to myself and my friend. Are server, Daniela was absolutely providing the upmost of top-tier service. She knew that menu like no Other! She knew what menu options with cater to my taste, without even knowing me. Once the staff was aware that it was my birthday I can tell you that they made me feel like a queen. Even the other Patrone next to us were so complementary to myself and my friend. I enjoyed every bit of my meal and my most amazing French 75 that was prepared perfectly. The food was like a slice of heaven and then some. I highly recommend if you are traveling through Puerto Rico to make a stop in Condado at c’est la vie.

Found a great new spot, Pantera. Lived in Japan for 3 years and always searching for quality “Japanese” food. Pantera does a good job at fusing Japanese with a PR twist. Cucumber salad was the closest to Japan’s quality and flavor that I’ve found. Decor is dark and well done.

We sat at the bar and had a wonderful meal. The service was impeccable, and the food was delicious. But one dish stole the evening: scallop carpaccio with brown butter infused with cinnamon and star anise. An unexpected combination that I loved. The kind of dish you keep talking about after you leave. You can feel José Enrique’s maturity as a chef: thoughtful flavors and the skill and restraint to give every ingredient its place. The quality speaks for itself.
