Wanted a good meal while in Montreal - outside of the smoked meat/bagel/poutine line of meals. Bar St Denis was it. It was fantastic food in a casual atmosphere. Great service, delicious dishes, fantastic wine. The music… late 70s / early 80s r&b was perfect! Would definitely recommend, would definitely go back.

Our waiter, Patrice was amazing!! The ambience in the restaurant was wonderful with all of the old posters of old Parisian publications and productions in theater and art. The food was wonderful. Try the braised lamb poutine! Lamb chops were exquisite.

One of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve every been in Old world, mastercraft paneling adorns the main area. High ceilings and unique wallpaper. The hamachi crisp in coconut milk was devine. Not cheap but worth every penny. Service was friendly and not stuffy and was professional. A must see restaurant. I made the reservation with Open Door. Strangely I got an email that said the restaurant canceled my reservation. So when we got there that’s is what we were told. However being a Monday night we were seated.

There were four of us and we were there for brunch. Everything (salmon eggs benedict, omelette, brunch sandwich) was absolutely delicious, one of the best brunches ever (the potatoes definitely unbeatable !)

Mushroom toast appetizer was excellent. Pork Milanese (essentially a schnitzel) portion was very large. Could not finish. All sauces were very rich and delicious. Beer selection was limited and could use some variety (no amber or brown ales). Cider is very dry. Mixed drinks were nice. Nice atmosphere, feels like Yukon lodge in winter.
