They have us a lovely gap just to enjoy the drink and ambience of the restaurant. The selection of sandwiches were nice, there was a lovely sausage roll which was yummy. Great selection of mini cakes and beautiful fresh scones. Very generous jam and clotted cream, we were both well and truly full. The staff were really great plus it was quite quiet so very enjoyable. Everything is well presented and very clean. My son is a diagnosed coeliac and there was a bit of an issue with the gluten free beer being labelled as containing gluten but this was dealt with very quickly and efficiently and it was found to be a fault with the manufacturer, not the restaurant. The manager couldn't have been more helpful and went above and beyond to resolve the issue. We were very grateful for that. It’s a lovely old pub serving beautifully cooked food, their wine list is way above average and the Mr. is happy with the beers on tap. What more does one need? We were shown to our reserved table very quickly, a short wait after ordering but the quality of the food made it very worthwhile. The menu is quite extensive catering for main meals or light lunches, the food is of a very high standard, fresh vegetables and local butchers meats.
