We just arrived Edinburgh, and needed to eat. Nice, clean and cosy restaurant, not too loud inside. Very good service, polite and attentive. The food was also good. chicken a bit dry, but the steak was really good! Good value for the money I would say

It’s always a bit more challenging to find a food place when it’s supposed to suit different demographics (in this case two middle-aged women and a primary school child). The Gruff Goat made us feel welcome, had an excellent food and wine menu and a no-nonsense kids plate. I had the Halloumi and Avocado Salad, which was excellent, and we were served by a very lovely and patient member of staff. Highly recommend.

This little bistro is amazing! Lovely ambiance, tasty hot food & staff are so friendly. The grilled sea bass was the best I’ve had & my husband’s steak was delicious & cooked to perfection. We will definitely go back again.
