Thought I was eating in a small restaurant in France. Food was absolutely delicious. Took my wife, relaxed, French cool, not pretentious. So much better than going to a chain restaurant, dinner leaves you with a memory. And unless you are a top home cook, you're never going to recreate the flavours. Perfect date night dinner choice, and if I had a mate visiting Stortford, I would definitely take him there. Breakfast menu looks great, will be going back. Thanks!

The Rupert Brooke is a 2 Rosette Gastro Pub in Grantchester and offers a unique drinking and dining just outside Cambridge. It is the latest adventure of Pasquale Benedetto, who has been part of the Cambridge dining scene since joining his father at Don Pasquale on Market Square 30 years ago.While the venue is a fresh start there are many familiar faces among the team, many of whom have worked together at previous sites for several years. The mission of the entire team is to set ourselves apart through great service, a buzzing atmosphere, good food executed well & a wide offering of high quality drinks.Head Chef Micky Addy uses fresh, local (wherever possible), British food with his focus on quality ingredients. His menus have a Bistro/Brasserie feel. Micky is passionate about offering classic dishes, perfectly executed. As Micky spent a number of years in Southeast Asia, following his grounding in European cuisine, you can expect some interesting twists to British Classics.

We are a vegan and vegetarian and there are always options available. The mushroom risotto was a good portion and very tasty. We enjoyed the wine too and the service is friendly and attentive.

The best pizza I've ever had! 4 of us ate here last Friday night and we all agreed that the food, setting up and ambiance is by fair the best around. They offer pizza or fish and chips in the evening, 2 of us had pizza and 2 fish and chips and they were all delicious. The advertising and marketing of this place seems pretty non-existent hence it wasn't very busy when we went but don't let this put you off as the food is excellent and very reasonably prices considering the set- up and quality. Highly recommend especially the autumnal pizza which is made with a pumpkin cream rather than tomato sauce base and it is exceptional

    Had a lovely afternoon spent with a friend. Arrived at 4:30 and it was quite empty but there was some lovely background music which made it feel warm and inviting. We left just after 9pm after a couple of bottles of wine, some lovely food (we chose a mixture of small plates rather than a large meal each). The restaurant was full and there was a lovely atmosphere. The food was incredible, the staff were attentive and friendly and the ambience was lovely. A great addition to Hertford.
