Sitting on the corner of Hilton and Tariff street in Manchester’s lively Northern Quarter, The Pen and Pencil takes its name and inspiration from the infamous mid-20th Century bar on East 45th Street in New York.Open seven days a week from 10am until late, the restaurant and bar not only offers a variety of beverages including cocktails, beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks, but focuses on its strong day time offering with great breakfast, brunch and lunch options as well as quality coffee and freshly blended smoothies.The Pencil and Pencil has an array of events throughout the month with a resident DJ to get the party started every weekend, a weekly quiz night on a Tuesday, and its sell-out Bottomless Brunches! It also offers a private room for corporate event and celebrations.. Unfortunately, we are unable o serve guests with Coeliacs due to the risk of cross contamination.

THE APPEAL OF DAMON RUNYON, the New York storyteller, newspaperman and sportswriter came from his mastery, but also invention, of 1920s American slang – a mixture of the ‘louche and the lugubrious’ according to the New Yorker magazine. He would go to Lindy’s, an all-night Jewish deli on Broadway that became Mindy’s in his stories, and listen.Runyon married a down-on-her-luck Spanish countess from Madrid, 26 years his younger, who turned out to be an up-on-her-heels Mexican dancer from Tampico. When he died his ashes were taken up in a plane and sprinkled all over New York.

Sheffield first pancake and waffle house! Established over 8 years ago by a local Sheffield family. Our family has American routes and it's been a long standing tradition that we have a pancake and waffle brunch every weekend. One week, in 2015, we decided to try and have this traditional brunch out in Sheffield. We visited many restaurants, all 'sold out' of pancakes. It was that moment we realised Sheffield couldn't offer this experience we so cherished. Around 1 year later, The Cabin was opened, aiming to capture our heritage, and love of all things North American. Great coffee, great food, great ambience and friendly staff. We're especially passionate about pancakes, like, we really love them and we hope you will too!

    Fantastic all round - this is our 5th visit - every time we go we get a lovely greeting from front of house staff - the restaurant is beautiful, clean and very well presented. Yesterdays, visit was for an 80th birthday surprise meal, and the service was wonderful, the food amazing and the little extra touches made it so special. I can't rave about the The Mill House Bistro enough, go and see you will be so pleased you did....

    Amazing food and service despite being super busy on Father’s Day (glad we booked!) Took two toddlers and we were all well catered for despite one person needing peanut free, another gluten free and a child egg free! The food was amazing!! Only complaint is too much choice 🤪 Not super cheap but well worth it!

    Never been before but it looked interesting so we gave it a go, will definitely be returning! Fantastic food, amazing atmosphere and music, great service and the whole theming of the venue was great as well, it was a truly fantastic experience all round. Highly recommend.
