Excellent Japanese food. Of course, we go to attend the show in the adjacent cabaret. Yoshi's is one of our favorite places in the Bay Area.
We had a very enjoyable dinner - the food & service were great - and the Herb Alpert & Lani Hall show was fantastic!
This was my first disappointing experience at Yoshi's. The cocktails were not cold, the main courses came out too soon, the sushi had veins running through it, we asked for pepper 5 times before getting it (from a host)....
I've been here before and everything was good. I believe that the rush of people before the show creates some havoc but that's no excuse for some of the issues.
Good food, reasonable price, excellent service. Great place to have dinner and enjoy a show.
Great spot! Loved the show
When I made the reservation, I reserved a specific window table in the main dining room. When the four of us arrived, there was no note of my reserved table and there was only one window table remaining, which we were told was reserved for someone else. The service was ok but not as attentive as on previous occasions. The food was very good as usual.
Food is always good but servers definitely lack any knowledge about their liquors. This was the third time my wife tried ordering a Guinness. At least this time the server brought a light colored beer before bringing a correct one the second time. Previously the beer never came and the other time the claim was the keg was only spitting foam.
Great family dinner set in a lovely ambiance
Concert while visiting family in Redwood City
Great place to be a regular
The level of class and customer service is truly amazing.
Had a nice dinner but had horrible seats. Couldn’t see the stage from table 73.
My poor little wife was very upset and disappointed.
This is one of our favorite spots for dining and entertainment. We drive up from the Monterey Peninsula, despite the Bay Area traffic. After cocktails and a delicious meal, you just stroll across the dining room floor, to the concert venue. The acoustics in the theater are great and the sound system is premium. Every seat in the house affords a good view of the stage. Incidentally, all of the train activity up and down the street, in front of the restaurant, is amusing to watch. There are two sets of tracks..... be alert while on the street!
Really enjoyed our dinner but more so the concert. We were seated so close to the stage that we felt every drum beat, keyboard stroke and horn blowing. Bobby Caldwell performed with so much enthusiasm and got the crowd engaged. We thoroughly enjoyed our date night out and would highly recommend people go and see for themselves what Yoshi's has to offer.
I love the vibe of Yoshi's - everyone is friendly from the hosts to the servers to the sushi chefs. I would return to try more dishes and watch more concerts. The sashimi is fresh, and the scallops with pork belly was surprisingly delicious!
There is no bad seat in the venue! You can order drinks and food during the concert as well!
It was great, the sushi was delicious!
Came to see Bobby Caldwell show and had dinner prior.
Had a wonderful meal and great entertainment
The food was fresh, well prepared and delicious! Service was excellent! Definitely would go back! Thank you!
EXCELLENT as always
Menu even better . Wonderful service and ambiance. Cocktails tasty . Love the new items on the menu.
Nice flourishes on the plates
♥️❤️🧡💛💚💙💜💖🖤 Yoshi’s & Yosh’s Restaurant. Taken out-of-town guests here. Been dining here for years—since their move from original Claremont St. location
I like yoshis overall but would recommend Huber or Lyft I in to jack london sq we were parked a block away on the street and our window was smashed. Other than that great place!
Very good menu served family style. Service was excellent. My only complaint was the kale/quinoa salad listed under entrees that did not qualify as a $20 entree. I guess you have to be a fan of kale!
Yoshi's never disapponts! Excellent as always! the shrimp tempura was excellent
I used opentable to make a reservation and it was fine when I got to Yoshi’s. The host and waitress greeted my wife for her birthday because I put it on opentable. The chicken I got was dry. The fritter was good. The free gelato was delicious. I think the food price was expensive. Wendy was very attentive to our needs.
Had a wonderful time. My daughter's first concert. She loved it. Your restaurant is top notch... Thank You for a fantastic night.
Amazing food and beautiful atmosphere. Would definitely go back.
Yoshi is great, we go at least 4 times a month to see live entertainment and enjoy a great dinner.
I dine in when attending concerts. Thank you for always being gracious courteous and attentive.
Great place to eat before seeing a show! Easy to park and lots of sights nearby.
We've eaten at Yoshi's many times and this time was not much different from previous times. We usually have a great dining experience this most recent experience was great as well. The only issue is the "plating" of the "High Note" sushi dish left much to be desired. However, our server worked hard to make sure it was done right. Overall, we're happy with our dining experience and will probably eat at Yoshi's again.
The food was great the service was great and the comedian was great
As always, the food and service was outstanding, and I like the show, we never gotten desapppointed when we are there. Our experience was fantastic, thank you so much.
We love having dinner at Yoshi's before a show. The food is incredible and the service is exceptional. Great view of Jack London Square and the trains coming by too!
The salmon we ordered arrived raw and undercooked. We had to send it back for a replacement. Otherwise the experience was good.
Concert with friends!
Food is beautifully prepared. Best sushi roll I've ever had. Black cod and halibut dishes are moist and creatively plated. Wish there were more menu choices.
It’s birthday month in our house. Came to Oakland to celebrate with my daughter who always has wanted to eat at Yoshi’s. It did not disappoint. The veggie tool and rainbow roll were amazing. I also loved the roll with lemon slices on top. Weekdays go early because the kitchen closes early for the jazz shows. This is a must go in Oakland!!
We love Yoshi’s. The food is always delightful, and I love their sake. Service was quick and efficient. If you are going to the show that night, eat at the restaurant before the show. You won’t be disappointed. 👍
You can tell everything from the rice in sushi places. If they can't do rice, chances are they don't care about what they are doing. The rice sucked. In general it is overpriced mediocre sushi. Nice atmosphere, good wait staff.
