What Insiders Are Saying
Westward is a place that will make you excited to live in Seattle. (Or consider buying property here ASAP.)
Had an amazing experience once again at Westward. My server Victoria was so great and her recommendations were on point!
Very good food, excellent service and on a clear day there’s no better place to be! Only criticism is there are many bottles of rose that are better quality and much cheaper than the ones on the menu here.
Great service, spectacular space. Food way over priced for what you get. $45 for plate of salmon. just the salmon, no sides etc. I think we may have bought bread. Salad very hohum... That said we had some good dishes.
Excellent views, great food. Service was slow but in a way that was nice because we never felt rushed to give up our table.
Came here for my husband’s graduation dinner with the parents. We sat out on the deck on a gorgeous day, so the ambiance was awesome. Unfortunately service was not great. Super slow. Our waitress didn’t check on us so was constantly trying to get the attention of anyone that worked there for things like plates and another round of drinks. Another young gentleman (waiter) stopped by to fill in for our absentee waitress and he was awesome! Knew his wines and delivered them fast. He saved the day!
Ambience great. Food a bit over priced. The octopus salad good, but only four small pieces for $20?
Beautiful restaurant on the water. Food was delicious. Great view! Definitely recommend having a drink after dinner by the fire pit or settle in on one of their deck chairs.
It was good food and a great location. The atmosphere was spectacular! We would like to go again.
Nice to sit outside in the Seattle summer. Make a reservation. Oysters at happy hour FTW.
Very inventive food in a super warm, energetic atmosphere. The view is worth it.
Can’t beat the location, views and decor but, unfortunately the food continues to be underwhelming. I really want to like this place but if the menu doesn’t change I don’t think I will be back. It’s a real shame as there is so much potential.
The Adirondack chairs are wonderful! Prices are a bit high for brunch.
Evreyone was so wonderful from the minute we walked
Stephen/Steven was absolutely fantastic, three of us were there during happy hour and he couldn’t have been more attentive. We had a nice selection of drinks, oysters, and finger foods and it was the perfect setting for just getting together and catching up in a nice atmosphere
What a pleasant surprise. Westward is in a fun setting, right on the lake, outdoors, lots of great design both in visuals and logistics. We ate supper in adirondack chairs, served by an attentive guy who made great recommendations. We had beef short ribs, nettle and goat cheese risotto, a side of brussels sprouts, a couple of fabulous cocktails. Each bite and sip was a revelation. Short ribs were a bit sweet but refreshingly smoky. Many tangy, herby flavors played around in the risotto. The brussels sprouts had so much flavor and texture that I wanted to lick the plate. I might have, actually. The only downer, foodwise, was the brownie sundae with dry, flavorless brownie bits in waxy, too-sweet ice cream, a dry drizzle of sauce--bleh. I don't trust a chef for whom dessert is an afterthought. How hard is it to do a brownie and ice cream with as much care as the rest?? The bill was high--can't remember exactly, but you pay to mingle with the yachts, I suppose. Would I eat there again? YES I WOULD! A great variety of places to sit, good for lots of different types of diners and occasions. A feast for both the taste buds and the eyes. Fix the dessert situation, people, and the food is 5 stars.
Emily was our Server . She was absolutely adorable and so attentive to every detail making the whole experience wonderful.
Came here for a happy hour with a girlfriend and loved it!
Amazing spot for brunch!
The sea cow oysters were excellent! Drinks were well paired. Staff were attentive without being overbearing.
Nice cozy place On a small waterfront property.
Food is great although alternatives are limited.
The service was just amazing. The waiter actually made an eye contact when talking to us and was really nice.
The food was just amazing. All flavor and texture combinations were so unexpectedly and amazingly thought through. Created an amazing symphony for my taste buds. Bravo to chef.
We love the oysters and the atmosphere! But the rest of the menu is as enjoyable, along with a superb wine and cocktail list. All round, simply a great night out.
Service was horrendous, food was fine but nothing great
A wonderful meal. Our server was awesome. Spent several hours eating and drinking on the patio.
Beautiful setting and decent service. However, I felt it was a bit overpriced for what you received. The food was quite good but not outstanding and they charged an extra $5 for grilled bread when we already paid $19 for clams. I feel at a place that’s rather pricey to begin with, it’s poor form and not great service to nickel and dime patrons for little things like bread. If it hadn’t been for that, I would have been ok with the markup for food, because it is such a gorgeous setting
Great food, great drinks, great location! Can't wait to come back.
We brought guests from out of town for brunch with a view and were quite disappointed in the portions this time, considering all the plates we ordered were not supposed to be small plates. They also did not honor my seating request made over Opentable. The food tasted great but there are much better brunch spots in Seattle. Would come here again for drinks/dinner but not for brunch.
The ambiance is great - views of the waterfront, boats, well decorated. The service was good too. But the food? Passable. We were there for brunch. The selections were good but the quality was average. Probably won’t go back.
Westward is a great Seattle restaurant with excellent food, fun cocktails, a great view and vibe and the best service in town.
I've been here before and it is really fab. The brunch menu was a bit disappointing. It really limited and not gluten-free friendly. That is primarily on me for not doing proper research, but the server recommended that we have the avocado toast without the toast - lol - so just avocado... We had some oysters and went elsewhere.
Everything was pretty great, except the waitstaff did not make any attempt to take our drink order in a timely manner, & did not offer to refresh drinks until we ordered dessert
I generally like Westward, but we went here for "brunch" and it's a very limiting experience . Other than granola and one very, very plain "salad" (i.e., literally just greens and dressing) there are only a handful of dishes and they were all egg/hash variants. Given the brunch menu is forced on diners during what is properly lunch time on Saturday, there needs to be at least some kind of simple protein and vegetable dishes on the menu. Similarly the only coffee offered was drip coffee. If you're going to force me to eat breakfast foods in the afternoon, at least let me enjoy it with a latte if that's my prerogative. I wouldn't mind any of this if it were a cheap diner but Westward is charging a pretty penny for all this. I'll be taking my lunch business elsewhere.
Great food and service. Awesome view of the city
Once a month we host a girls night at a different local restaurant. Westward was my suggestion because I had dined there several times and found it fabulous, so it was extra disappointing when the service was slow (very slow) and the food uninspired.
Great food and service. The bartender was terrific and doubled as our server. Our initial contact was with the hostess who was not accommodating and rolled her eyes at our seating request. The outside seating is at long tables where you may be seated with other guests. If planning an intimate dinner this may not be the best location for you.
Great food, great drinks, and great service in a wonderful location. Westward is outstanding!
Lucky us - we were at Westward 2 nights in a row and also lucky us - we had Christian as our server 2 nights in a row. He's fantastic! On it! Fun! Great communicator. The first night was date night and we just needed to sit and sip and take it slow - Christian followed our lead and was fantastic (a great waiter can read the signs and he was perfect!). The next night we wanted to play as we had a friend in town from San Francisco. We pulled Christian into a few conversations - he was once again perfect! Our food both nights - wow! Octubus, nettle risotto, oysters..... highly recommend! (And the hostesses both nights were great as well. We really appreciate the service.)
Other than the oysters, nothing really stood out. And it's not cheap for what you get.
Always delicious! We come for the oysters, expertly shucked and fresh. Fabulous service and the lake side location does not disappoint.
It was fantastic but the service was all around pretty slow. Taking orders, food coming out, getting our check.
