We ordered the cheeseburgers medium rare and they arrived well done. My dining companion summed it up best: the burger meat tastes like McDonalds’. And yet they were $24 each

I wasn’t expecting more than pizza and pasta-there is so much more. The kitchen uses the freshest ingredients and seasons the food well. Our super server made great food recommendations. Upland it someplace to go when you need a hug-comfort food with a fresh take.

Not a fan of being forced to sit at the bar while waiting for someone. I would've liked to be seated and start ordering at the table. The menu should note that the Duck Wings are spicy, I couldn't finish them.
I ordered my steak medium well. One half of it was medium well and the other half was medium rare. I couldn't eat that side, and the romesco was cold, I would've preferred it at least be warm.
My server, Sophie was great. She was the best part of my experience. I didn't like the food enough to return.

While the food is great the hostess is routinely nasty. This is the second visit in the same number of months that she greeted me and my guests in an unprofessional and unaccommodating manner. This visit included a highly important business colleague and she was utterly nasty when I inquired about options for seating. At 6'4'' a seat in the middle of a long row across from a high traffic area would be less than pleasant; arriving at 11:30am for lunch should provide latitude to adjust ones seat.

Everything about Upland was outstanding. The food was artfully prepared and served. We had mostly vegetarian dishes— carrots, eggplant, tomatoes— and each was excellent. One member of our party had skirt steak and he was very pleased. We had an excellent Chianti Classico as well.

From start to finish my husband and I again have enjoyed this bright and consistent take on modern Italian food!
Fluke crudo style with key lime sauce ? Perfect for a warm August evening!

Our duck salad with many appetizing additions collaborated for a marvelous tasty perfectly combined plate.

The famous large deeply cooked hen of the wood mushroom was again a hit with us I hope it stays on the menu!

As always - it was wonderful!

Food was delicious ! This was my second visit in the past month. However, service was rushed and uneven! Drinks remained empty, and we experienced a change in wait staff mid meal. Disappointed in this visit!

I love Upland. Their doughnuts are always incredible and are a nice sweet treat with any meal. The coffee here is always great and I love that they warm the milk so that your coffee doesn’t cool.

Loud restaurant - buzz from conversations pinging off mostly wood decor - and probably unnecessary background music - and food (very fresh pasta with tasty sauces and ingredients). We recommend dumplings, pappardelle, and spaghhettini.

Love Upland. Food is always good albeit a bit overpriced. I don’t mind the noisy atmosphere however the people should not be louder than the music. Waiter was just ok have had better service here before. Overall, a good meal and a good time.

I will preface this by saying I have eaten at this establishment in the past and this time was the last. Didn’t even acknowledge that it was our anniversary. Didn’t touch the table with menus or drinks for several minutes. Mushroom was overcooked and tasted of unchanged fryer oil, bread was cold in center, five lettuce caesar was inedible with the bitterness from the greens (the dressing could have tempered the bitterness), Cacio e Pepe (which I have had all over the world) was slightly over al dente and significantly over peppered (not in quantity but in size of actual pepper grind - I should not bite into full peppercorns!). Unfortunately the servers and perhaps even the kitchen are tired of selling the food that so many have come to love and maybe just eat in satisfaction yearning for yesteryear. This wasn’t resting on your laurels this was falling asleep at the wheel.

Our two starters were quite tasty: the hen of the woods mushroom and the heirloom tomato salad. Our next course was monkfish with wax beans & fingerling potatoes, which arrived with cold potatoes and doused with a low quality vinegar. This was completely inedible (the vinegar SO overwhelming) and we asked to have the same dish prepared with hot potatoes (or at least warm) and a much lighter hand with the vinegar. The next attempt had slightly warmer potatoes but it was now clear that the potatoes had been prepared far in advance (you know the texture potatoes get in that situation), and the vinegar, while slightly less in volume, was the same poor quality. Although my husband & I were sharing this one main dish, we could not finish it. The restaurant did not charge us for this dish, fortunately. Our server, who started out so charming, did not speak to us after we sent the main dish back. We did not order dessert. I did tip the server 20% including the amount for the monkfish dish, since it wasn’t his fault...although he should have been more professional about the situation.

So disappointed with our experience at this supposedly great restaurant. They are unable to accommodate food allergies. I am allergic to garlic and informed this to the waiter and to convey this to the chef. After I was told that my food selection was not possible I asked the waiter to ask the chef what dishes I could have. After talking to the chef, he told me that my only choice was to have the green salad or fluke crudo for appetizer and the bucatini pasta for entree. We were shocked that at a pricey restaurant like this, the chef was not able to accommodate anything else. I guess all the food is premade or did not want to be bothered. Obviously this ruined the culinary experience we were hoping for my birthday.

Everything was great. The AC was broken so was very hot. I wish they would have alerted us to that before we came. It became way too hot to enjoy our delicious meal!!
