Umi Sake House is a unique Japanese cuisine restaurant in the Belltown area of Seattle featuring the highest quality seafood available in the Northwest, a large izakaya-style tapas menu, and boasting a sake list of over 60 imported Japanese bottles. The interior is multi-faceted, with a black slate tiled traditional dining room, a gorgeous 14 person capacity wooden sushi bar, a semi private "tatami" room which holds 12 people, a larger 25 person private dining room, an enclosed "back patio" casual dining room complete with tropical garden, a black concrete liquor bar with custom sake cocktails and fusion traditional cocktails, and a "front porch" casual dining area with a daily extended happy hour from 4-8pm. The variety of atmospheres allows for a different experience with every visit, and the vastness and quality of the menu does the same. Great Happy Hour Menu & drinks! We love to sit at the sushi counter & watch everything that is going on. We love the sushi & sashimi on the HH menu but also order off the regular menu! Everything has always been top quality & it is beautifully presented. The service is quick & friendly. I'm thrilled to have Umi Sushi house as my neighborhood go to place. Take out is also great!

I have been going to Umi Sake House for 2 years. This time at late night happy hour, the food was mediocre and service was slow. Crispy calamari was not crispy and cold sushi was not impressive. I hope they level up their food for the happy hours as well.

Too loud. Fast food place service. The server took our order, brought food, and never even checked on us or asked if there was anything we want/need. Had to catch him to get a check. The host was rude. We were waiting to be seated way past our reservation. When I addressed the host to make sure she didn't forget about us since she seated people who came after us, she cut me off and said,' it's all good, they have earlier reservation' The only positive thing was the fish. Very fresh and delicious. 2 out of 3 rolls we ordered were nothing to be excited about, too heavy( too much sauce, too much bacon) Won't be back.

Brought my wife here for our anniversary and let me start off by saying the ambiance of the restaurant was elegant. The service was amazing, our server Julia brought us a glass of champagne on the house and made my wife feel special. Very much appreciated, thank you again Julia for going above and beyond with your serving skills. The sushi rolls were the best we’ve ever had. 10/10 experience, restaurant, and service!

This place is fantastic. We went for my birthday and they gave me a free dessert and candle, it was like being a kid again! The fish was so fresh and they bring out edamame for the table right when you sit down. I had a great time and will be going back!

The entire time there was great, from walking in to leaving. The customer experience was fun with our server, drinks were yummy and the sushi was DELICIOUS! If you’re looking for something for quiet and private I wouldn’t recommend this place.

My fiancé and I love Umi’s. It’s a very special place for us and the food almost never disappoints. The calamari with sweet Thai chili sauce is delicious along with the garlic ribs and pork dumplings. Happy hour pricing every day during the early evening and late night makes the bill less daunting. Only ever had one bad dish there and it was the fried noodle covered prawns but everything else is beyond scrumptious. The sushi rolls are always fresh and so delectable. Umi’s is the best Japanese restaurant in Seattle.

This place was LOUD. The sashimi was fine, absolutely nothing that is not available at any of dozens of other sushi spots in the city. The rolls were very good and creative! Service was slow but friendly enough. Cannot think of a reason to ever come back, but I suppose it was worth trying.
