Umi Sake House
The absolute best sushi anywhere! Love this place! Service great as well. Quite energetic at end of week & weekends.
The best sushi and great service! Fresh, delicious, this place never disappoints. It’s our favorite spot when we visit Seattle. Highly recommend.
Wonderful sushi, good service on a busy holiday eve (New Years) and cozy seating.
Food was good, good experience, but drinks and food was slow, the order came out with food for 1 person at a time, not conducive to dating
I absolutely love Umi Sake House. Their sushi is always amazing and fresh. I had never had sashimi before, but I tried the hamachi and it was so buttery that it melts in your mouth. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone I know who likes sushi. I know they will not regret it.
This was a recommendation from a friend who lives in Seattle and it was probably the best sushi we have ever had. The rolls just melt in your mouth! We got the Bad Boy (after reading yelp reviews) and it was great, but the Belltown Barbie was out of this world! We also got a few other pieces of fresh fish and we were simply blown away. Highly recommend and get a reservation because this place gets packed!
The sashimi was ice-cold and sea urchin is not even fresh, it has a smell. They take back the unfresh sashimi, no apology
Service was kind and accommodating!
Very good restaurant experience and hours of operation (open 'til late). The greeter/host was super pleasant, which was appreciated. The wait staffer provided good recommendations for sake flights plus sushi dishes.
The gentleman who poured water ensured our glasses were always full, but the frequency of his visits was a bit much, which interrupted our meal and conversation 3 or 4 times. Otherwise, really good service.
Although the food was satisfactory (aside from old, brown avacado on a sushi roll), the service was atrocious and rude.
We watched one man chew out a fellow staff member in front of the entire dining area. Certain tables were given attention and others were ignored entirely. Unless you know someone who work here or are a regular, don't waste your time.
We really enjoyed our time here, the noise level was alright, we didn’t truly enjoy the music that was playing, but it didn’t distract us that much
Absolutely fantastic sushi! The presentation, the taste, the sake and the great help from the hostess/waiters made this a guaranteed excellent night out and we all plan on going back for more.
Amazing food, great service, dope ambiance
The sushi here is the best around. Never had a bad meal here.
Excellent as always. We were able to order from the Happy Hour menu and everything was so good we ordered a second time!
We also tried the lobster bake for the first time and it was very tender and flavorful. Umi never disappoints, it’s become our tradition to visit at least once on each trip to Seattle
Really great spot, sushi was extremely fresh and the sake flight was a great way to try different sales! Enjoyed our dinner very much.
We had 8 people for a work dinner. The table we were sat at was quite small for our size group.
This is my husband and I's favorite spot in Seattle! We usually come up twice a year and the first thing we do is make reservations at Umi. The sashimi is the best I have ever had! We always get the salmon sampler. The service is always great and the staff is kind and chill. The design is cool and it is perfect for a great birthday/anniversary and kind of celebratory dinner! AMAZING. A must if you are a sushi lover.
The most creative sushi rolls I've ever had! Amazing garnishes and surprising sauces, our new go to sushi restaurant when in Seattle.
Service was excellent. Food was incredibly fresh and delicious. Really enjoyed the atmosphere.
I’ve been eating at Umi for 10+ years and have always enjoyed my experience. My husband and I met some friends for happy hour before a concert at the Paramount.
The sushi rolls are huge, the food is tasty, and the staff is always very kind. I've been here about 3 times and the experience is consistently positive.
A wonderful place for good food and sake! Perfect for my daughters 21st Birthday!
Umi Sake House was a recommendation from a friend that lives in Seattle. It was delicious! We loved all the sushi they brought, and the free edamame is a nice touch. I would 100% recommend trying this restaurant out. The sushi is extremely fresh.
Bad service, average food, totally underwhelming
Great food, but this place is not exactly comfy - it's too cold in the winter and typically too warm in the summer, the inside is a bit start/cold for decor.
Great food. Fun place!
Food was average. The fish wasn’t the star of the dishes. My friend enjoyed it but I appreciate more Japanese restraint over complicated rolls.
best sushi I’ve had in the area, but extremely loud
Excellent sushi and excellent selection of sake! Our server was fantastic and knowledgeable. We will be back!
Got there at 5:30 and the place was already packed but the service was quick. The picture includes the $60 Omakase sashimi. The sashimi was great, better than Kashiba and no need to wait on line for an hour to get in, just be sure to have a reservation.
Service was great food was not.
Extremely attentive, fast, and nice waitstaff!
Service and food was great!! But the place is very noisy
Umi Sake house is a great choice for fresh sushi and one of Seattle’s best sake selections.
The service is prompt, friendly and attentive. As well as nigiri I and sashimi, they offer dozens of innovative rolls to choose from.
Our waitress was well versed in the sake selection and with input from me as to likes and dislikes, conjured up the perfect junmai daiginjo.
Not inexpensive, but worth it.
Our server, Edward, was amazing. His suggestions were very tasty, the sushi, the dessert, and the whiskey. It was a fabulous evening. We plan to return. Thanks for a great evening and dining experience.
We have been to Umi several times and this past experience was absolutely poor. I don't know if they have new staff in the back but the quality of the fish was just okay. We used to tell our friends about how amazing this place is but we're definitely not going to recommend this place anymore. Not worth it at all.
Great sushi, friendly service, cool ambiance, an all around great option.
Was up In Seattle visiting , only sushi place opened late on Sunday that took reservations.
Fish was fresh, service was good .
Onlything bad was an annoying group that was celebrating a bday , this place should have private rooms for big parties.
I could tell a few of the other tables were also annoyed by the drunk group.
Would go again .
Umi is my favorite sushi place in Seattle. It's phenomenal! I recommend it to everyone who hasn't been there yet!
