Umi Sake House
I’m really dissapointed because we had a reservation but the hostess sat us in the bar area which was extremely noisy. My mother was visiting last weekend and is hard of hearing and so i asked the hostess if we could move to a table at the other part of the restaurant. She said she’d check and she never returned and so my poor mom couldn’t hear hardly any of the conversation. Huge disappointment.
Ordered the calamari, oyster shooters, spicy salmon roll, unagi roll, and durango roll. All were excellent, but the oyster shooters and the unagi roll definitely stood out!
This is hands down the best and most creative sushi place in town!
Favorite spot for sushi. Had my girlfriends bday dinner and she loves it!!! Didnt see the grilled squid on the menu and asked and her wish was granted! SOOOO GOOD!!!! Will recomend to all!!!
Best sushi we have ever ever ever had. Service was excellent. My wife and I will go back in a heartbeat! This restaurant is amazing!!
Been to Umi several times with good experiences, but last night, it was pretty bad. Service was terrible. Got seated fairly quickly since we had a reservation, but waiter took 15 minutes to get a drink order. We ordered all of our food in fear we wouldn't see him again, and we were correct . Didn't see him till we flagged him down with our credit card after sitting. Sashimi was good, but rolls were terrible. Rice wasn't good, and rolls were soggy. Not worth it for $213 for 2 people.
Great affordable happy hour!
I love Umi Sake House. Everything is exceptional from Service, drinks and especially the food.
Everything was excellent from the food to the ambiance -we will be back!
Food quality is always good. Fair price. Good vibe. Nice eye candy. Can’t hear music tho. Service was a 4/5.
The food’s great here. Being a vegetarian, having so many sushi options is a dream come true for me. However, the service is a little slow and the place gets really loud. The seating wasn’t very comfortable either. But I keep coming back for the sushi!
I love this place. Delicious good, good quality, affordable pricing. The restaurant is cute and the staff and friendly.
Great selection of sushi and sake in in a vibrant atmosphere. Wait staff is very attentive and service is quick for such a busy venue.
Fresh Seafood and amazing flavors.
Service was Ok was asked if We wanted to switch from sushi bar to a table by hostess, We were forgotten while people after us were seated. At sushi bar after being seated We were At the end cap Where servers kept bumping into my bag and dirty dishes were stacked next to our tasty sushi.
Server did a good job explaining local fish options.
Super full restaurant and bar like loud, but very amazing food.
Went for happy hour. Great food and drink specials, very fresh and tasty sashimi!
Service excellent, noise level very noisy, sashimi mediocre, Toro very mediocre
Umi Sake is my family's favorite restaurant in Seattle. Especially, we love Happy Hours menues to try many kinds of yummy foods.
Our Favorite and Only Sushi House in Seattle for us. The atmosphere and the environment is to die for. Good music playing and conversation. The food is delicious and fresh. Many different fish varieties and options.
We made the reservation at 6pm for 2 people and because of no parking spots near the restaurant. We only arrived at 6:15pm. The staff told us our reservation was automatically cancelled if no show after 10min. They never communicated to us on Open Table or message us this 10 min no show policy. And we had to wait 40 min to get a table. We escalated to the manager and he said the 10 min no show cancellation is a standard. He was nice enough to find a table for us without waiting in the end. If there is a 10 min no show policy, please update on the Open Table under message from the restaurant, so customer are informed.
Food is excellent! Great service and a cool setting. My only complaint is it gets quite loud.
Turned up for our reservation to find the restaurant closed with no attempt made to advise us, just a note pinned to the door. Fortunately all restaurants around it were open, clearly the bad weather wasn’t that bad.
Very wide choice of creative rolls, however if you look for high quality sushi, this is not the case, standard rice, sub standard (poorly trained sushi chefs) cuts of good quality fish. Nice ambiance.
Excellent food, but we were told upon check in that we could only have the table for 1 hour. Having made a reservation several days in advance, this statement seemed unwelcoming.
We made it in time for happy hour which made our meal a quarter of the price. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent.
Excellent service, fresh fish and wide variety of options. The Happy Hour menu is a very affordable way to enjoy a variety of their delicious food. We will be going back for sure.
Hands down the best rolls I've ever had. Ever. Absolutely blown away by the combination of flavors. Almost afraid to go back for fear of a second visit not living up to the first. But worth the risk. Can't wait to continue exploring the menu.
I went with friends from out of town and we had a wonderful time. The service was top notch—super warm and attentive and professional—and we made our way through some very yummy sashimi and excellent sake. I’d say Shiro edges these folks out in terms of the quality of the sashimi, but Umi Sake House is much more fun. Overall, a great experience—highly recommended.
Unbelievable vibe and food. Everything was top notch. Will definitely be going back here.
Great food, great atmosphere! Lots of options and variety. Bonus was the Japanese Whiskey menu!!!
Excellently curated meal by the waitress. The sushi and sake were both on-point.
The absolute best sushi anywhere! Love this place! Service great as well. Quite energetic at end of week & weekends.
The best sushi and great service! Fresh, delicious, this place never disappoints. It’s our favorite spot when we visit Seattle. Highly recommend.
Wonderful sushi, good service on a busy holiday eve (New Years) and cozy seating.
Food was good, good experience, but drinks and food was slow, the order came out with food for 1 person at a time, not conducive to dating
I absolutely love Umi Sake House. Their sushi is always amazing and fresh. I had never had sashimi before, but I tried the hamachi and it was so buttery that it melts in your mouth. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone I know who likes sushi. I know they will not regret it.
This was a recommendation from a friend who lives in Seattle and it was probably the best sushi we have ever had. The rolls just melt in your mouth! We got the Bad Boy (after reading yelp reviews) and it was great, but the Belltown Barbie was out of this world! We also got a few other pieces of fresh fish and we were simply blown away. Highly recommend and get a reservation because this place gets packed!
The sashimi was ice-cold and sea urchin is not even fresh, it has a smell. They take back the unfresh sashimi, no apology
Service was kind and accommodating!
Very good restaurant experience and hours of operation (open 'til late). The greeter/host was super pleasant, which was appreciated. The wait staffer provided good recommendations for sake flights plus sushi dishes.
The gentleman who poured water ensured our glasses were always full, but the frequency of his visits was a bit much, which interrupted our meal and conversation 3 or 4 times. Otherwise, really good service.
Although the food was satisfactory (aside from old, brown avacado on a sushi roll), the service was atrocious and rude.
We watched one man chew out a fellow staff member in front of the entire dining area. Certain tables were given attention and others were ignored entirely. Unless you know someone who work here or are a regular, don't waste your time.
