Chef Tyson's menu offerings include daily specials, hot and cool tastings, makimono, yakimono, tempura and, of course, sushi and sashimi.
We did the 10 course tasting menu and I could not recommend it more! One of my very favorite meals I've had!
The food is superb and creative (think way outside the California Roll box)! Menu items are more shareable small plates (think tapas) than full meals so plan on ordering a few things. It's definitely pricey, but worth the splurge!
We had to wait even though we had a reservation. The food was good but not exceptional as I had experienced on previous visits. Felt a little too practiced and on autopilot. I felt they were focus on getting us in, fed and out.
This was our second visit to Uchi and the second visit was disappointing. We ordered the Chef Special 10 plates. There were 5 maybe 6 exceptional courses but 4 of them were not that good! It was a very expensive meal and the experience the second time around for the meal was not as wonderful as our first visit. On our last visit we were asked about our preferences and they shared the menu with us and brought out some exceptional food told us more about the food and presented the food in exceptional ways! This time the food presentation was not as special and our waiter this time seemed to have a set menu , didn’t ask us our food preferences and served us lamb that nobody liked and too much fish! There was a lack of variety in the food- lots of fish slabs on rice!! We absolutely loved the dessert!! Perfect!! If we come back we will not get the Chef special!!!! It was really flat this time!
Love Uchi but this visit wasn’t their best showing......
Service was slow to say the least. Took 15 minutes to even order a drink, and then once we decided we would order at our own leisure it seems like eternities between seeing our server. Food was great, so were the drinks.
The only thing that annoyed me was that when they confirmed the reservation they made a point of telling me that we would not be seated unless all present and that they don’t split the bill to more than 1 person.
While I understand that, it’s not classy and it comes across as uninviting. We were a party of 8 and we spent over $1800 during our night.
The food and staff is always amazing. I recommend the tasting menu. Worth every penny.
Very good food -- but definitely not cheap! Ambiance lighting can make it difficult to see the menu, so bring your reading glasses and use the flashlight on your cell phone.
Uchi is amazing. Food and service are the best in Dallas!!
Our waitress Elisa went above and beyond for us Saturday. Her knowledge with everything on the menu was superb. Our experience was unforgettable and we will definitely be back soon!
Waiter kept calling table full of women guys - asked him not to - complained to management now avail
Order bottle of wine got glasses - ordered items before end of happy hour and they were not turned in. Other waiters and waitress did a better job of monitoring our table than our waiter.
Ashley was our server and did outstanding job.
It was wonderful!
Food and service are off the charts. My favorite Sushi in Dallas, among other things. The prices, of course, are quite high given portion sizes and the like. But it is worth it for a special treat.
Fantastic meal and are waitress Gray made great choices fro start to finish. We’ll be back!
I don’t even like sushi. This is one of my favorite places. Expensive? Yes fun? Yes worth it? Yes
Great place for date night or happy hour with friends.
It's one of the only restaurants in Dallas where I feel like I need to growl to protect my food from my friends!! ;-)
The duck liver is a bit too oil... otherwise everything is perfect.
Our server, Elissa was wonderful!! We had the best time celebrating my husband’s birthday.
Excellent experience, we celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary and everyone that helped us congratulated us and our server and the chef surprised us with complinatry dishes. We will be celebrating future events at Uchi Dallas!
Easily the best sushi related restaurant in Dallas. Team service provides amazing personalization and each staff member takes pride in providing an unforgettable experience. An absolute must for anyone that loves food...
Great food and excellent service. Sushi is one of the best I've had. Karaage is definitely the best, highly recommend it.
Uchi is just on a different level...it is fantastic. Food and service are top notch. We love taking out of town guests here- they are blown away
A meal at Uchi is always a positive experience and this was no exception. Our server, was wonderful - funny, attentive and efficient. He also had some great sake recommendations. We were there for Happy Hour this trip which made the meal very reasonably priced. Sushi was super fresh and well-prepared, tempura cauliflower was delicious - so lightly breaded. They had some interesting fish on the specials list including Barracuda which was very delicately flavored. Excellent! For dessert we had the Fried Milk which is tiny fried balls with a creamy liquid/milky center - this comes with milk sherbet and chocolate smears. So good. Dining at UCHI would be better if the valet system worked better. At times you wait for 20-30 minutes to get your car back. Otherwise - a wonderful evening.
The food is always good except this time. I wasn’t impressed at all with a few of the most expensive items on the menu. The recommended dish by our waitress tasted like burned milk with 3 pieces of crab which was around $38. Even the wine the waitress recommended was horrible and expensive. I told them it was my boyfriends birthday and they asked his name and all when they confirmed the reservation on the phone but despite spending a lot of money they didn’t even acknowledge his birthday or anything. Out edamame came as the last dish!! It’s supposed to be an appetizer. They came extremely overlooked and dry and tasteless. We had to check on it 4 times to get the burned edamame. Nobu at least brings some free ices cream with candles for birthdays. Overall food was extremely horrible and dishes were small and tasteless. We ended up going to a burger place after just to feel full after spending hundreds at Uchi.
Excellent and creative as usual dozens of visits. One of my favs in DFW.
Some of the best sushi I have ever had!
Fabulous all around! With the exception of their unmatched charred edamame, we ordered on recommendations from our server. Each item brought out to us was better than the next....Innovative and unbelievably delicious! The sushi pieces melted like butter in our mouths. So fresh and tasty!! Phenomenal service. Our favorite sushi in Dallas!
What a fantastic Japanese Restaurant. We are from the S.F. bay area and we have lots of good Japanese restaurants to choose from here but this restaurant is so much better than most of what we have here. This restaurant is outstanding on all levels. The food selections of the sushi, maki and sashimi were very fresh, tender and very, very tasty. Considering this restaurant is located in Dallas which is not a coastal city I was amazed. My wife and I were overwhelmed. And our server, Trevor, explained every dish on the menu. He was patient and understanding. Our reservation was at 5:45 and the place was half full but by 6:30 the restaurant was totally full on a Tuesday night ! There is valet parking available. The sake selection was fun to order from. If you dine early you can order from the early bird specials which offer a large selection at half price (but the portions are smaller too). This way we could sample more items and keep the cost down. Dinner for two came to $68.00 plus tax and tip and we had two sake's. I will return again anytime I am in Dallas !!!
Celebrating our son’s college graduation
Incredible food and even better service! Will definitely return soon!
Food was outstanding
The sushi was small portions but the quality was great. Skip the Wagyu, it was OK but not the best steakhouse quality or flavor, stick to the seafood.
Such an amazing experience! Enjoyed every dish and the service was above and beyond. If you haven't been, go with the waiter/waitress recommended option. That was perfect for us.
Uchi is the best place to eat in dallas. The staff make it a very special experience and the food is mouthwatering good!! Splurge on the king crab. It melts in your mouth.
Absolutely incredible. Food and service was impeccable and they made me a special vegan omakase. Had the loveliest sake I’ve ever tried and we just can’t wait to come back. Absolutely perfect!
