Honestly, we were so excited to come here because we remembered how great the food was from our last trip but the food was flavourless and the service was a bit slow. Probably will skip next time in Seattle.
Tulio continues to be one of our favorites in downtown Seattle. A short walk to the Symphony or shows, it has treated us to one outstanding meal after another.
Last Tuesday, 3/19/19, was no exception. In a bit of a hurry, after a late ferry from Bainbridge Island, we were provided with quick and excellent service by the host and Madeline. While a pork dish has been on the menu for a long time, we had never tried it. The fish and other entrees had always been too tempting. This time we asked, and it sounded great, so we ordered the korobuta pork shank with ricotta whipped potatoes and mostarda, and chard sauteed with garlic, after a ceaser and mixed green salad for me and my wife.
The salads were excellent as always - fresh, crisp lettuce and greens, extraordinary dressings, and properly dressed (a little or a lot depending on your preferences). The pork shank was beautifully prepared - the meat falling off of the bone - tender and so flavorful. We are used to modestly sized meals; the pork was more than enough for both of us. We typically run short of the juice or sauce, which again was incredible; no problem, Madeline brought more. Altogether, a very fine meal, on an immaculate white table cloth, and with excellent wine. (My wife ordered an Oregon Chardonnay, which we both felt was overly "minerally" - almost salty - to our tastes. Madeline replaced it with a Washington Chard which was great, and their Riesling was also perfect accompaniment for my dinner). Because of our late start, we didn't have desert, but if you get the chance, try their Pistachio Semifreddo. Light and cool, it is a perfect ending to an extraordinary dining experience!
We left in time to be early for a beautiful performance by Michael Tilson Thomas, the San Francisco Symphony Conductor, with much of the San Francisco Symphony, at Benaroya Hall, for a spectacular conclusion to the evening.
Tulio continues to make evenings in Seattle very special for us!
The food was delicious and the service is excellent. Thank you!
Best anniversary! Will return again and soon. The food is insanely great. Service superb!!
Tulio always delivers a magnificent dining experience.
What a great experience, from the time we walked in the door, enjoyed a speciality cocktail at the bar and then the meal. Wonderful, we will definitely be repeat customers.
I have dined at Tulio's MANY times over the past 20+ years........always satisfied and willing to recommend it.....my favorite dish has been the roasted chicken.....I must have ordered it a dozen times and always loved it.......I ordered it yesterday and, based on history, encouraged my guest to do likewise....
IT WAS TERRIBLE!!......tough chicken, overly peppered and the lemon in the polenta destroyed the dish.......had I not been with a guest, I would have rejected it.....my suspicion is that the owner was not in the kitchen.......I hope that explains it.....and, assuredly, if this happens again I will reject it.....
Another wonderful lunch! Our waitress was amazing as always. She even remembered that I was vegan from my last visit! Definitely recommend!
Tulio’s has been a favorite of somebody in the party & he feared it would not meet his memories
There were four of us. Three women (my daughter, daughter-in-law, and myself) and one male friend
We were seated promptly
Service was attentive and timely
We had appetizers the mussels (recommended my the waiter) which were delicious in a broth, the bruschetta, and the sweet potato gnocchis (lived up to hype)
Rabbit ragu, linguini with clams, swordfish, and duck. All enjoyed
Desserts included tiramisu and a zuccoto(?)
Continues to be a great dining experience
Great meal. Everyone was happy with their food. Swordfish was excellent. Service was spot on. Very nice Italian wine selection
Another excellent dinner at Tulio. The food was outstanding, the service excellent, and the ambiance terrific. We always feel so cared for at Tulio and it has always been a wonderful experience.
portion sizes were a little small for the price and we were not able to hear the music playing
Great food and great service, who could ask for more!
Dinner (Pork Shank) was amazing as well as the service. This has become our go-to restaurant for pre-theatre dinner. This time we had the Pistachio semifreddo for desert and it was delicious and large enough to share, which we did. They have an amazing wine and drink list to go with dinner and the staff are very knowledgeable. I have recommended to friends and will continue to do so.
Breakfast was good. As expected. The cinnamon roll was disappointing. Dry and covered with excess crusted icing. Great service.
Great food bad service , definitely return when I have a few extra hours .
Good food nice place great service
Great place for a drink but not for culinary experience. Food was disappointing.
Well done. Dependably nice experience. Thank you
Birthday and sporting event coincided and we decided to stay at the Kimpton Vintage hotel and eat at Tulio downstairs. Service was impeccable. Server was well informed and made great suggestions, including recommending 1/2 orders of our first course. Signature cocktails were great. Food was very good and we enjoyed our own bottle of wine for a reasonable corkage fee. Server made sure to ask about our plans and we shared that we would be taking our time—no show to rush off to. Leisurely 2.5 hour 4 course dinner was just what we’d hoped for. Second time at Tulio and both visits were excellent.
Pasta dishes are always high quality. Wild mushroom bruschetta appetizer highly recommended! We were a large party but were seated immediately on the dot of our reservation during very busy lunch hour. Service was excellent.
Tulio is a consistent and well run restaurant. I enjoy my lunches there as the service and decor are excellent for a business or casual lunch with a friend. Prices are getting high in downtown Seattle for most nice restaurants in Seattle. Wish I could visit more often....
Somehow I missed the fact that this was a brunch only menu, I was hoping for early lunch. That being said the food was delicious and the service was excellent.
We have been to Tulio many times, but were very disappointed this visit. The food was mediocre at best. The focaccia was stale, the orecchlette dish was bland, and the duckling was poorly cooked. In particular, the duckling dish, which sounds delicious on the menu was the biggest disappointment. The leg and thigh were overcooked, but edible albeit under-seasoned. The breast was not rendered properly so the skin was flabby. The accompanying pear puree was bland, under-seasoned and needed acid. The caramelized pear on the plate was more like a dessert than a side dish. However, the mashed potato side dish was delicious! The one saving grace of the meal. We know that Tulio can do much better than this, but it may be a while before we convince ourselves to return to find out.
The food was wonderful. Duck was perfectly done.
Our server, Juan, was exceptional.
Tulio was an excellent choice to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Great food and service, prices are fairly reasonable.
Over the last couple weeks my wife and I dined at Tulio frequently as we were staying at the Vintage Park while I had surgery nearby. The Tulio crew were without fail extremely helpful and considerate of my wobbly state. They were able to place me so my leg could be comfortable and I appreciated it. Last Friday, following a post-op meeting with my surgeon, I went to Tulio one last time before my flight and had one of the most amazing meals of my life. It was roast lamb and was so good that I (a fast eater) cut everything in extremely small bites and chewed and ate as slowly as I could to stretch out the experience. The meat was perfectly rare with a perfect crust on the outside. It was exquisite. I wish I lived closer so I could go there more often.
Tulio is a very warm and romantic atmosphere with great food and service.
Great food, great ambiance, excellent cocktails, top-notch service. Highly recommend!
Tulio is my favorite restaurant in Seattle. From the ambiance to the friendly staff to the delicious food, everything about Tulio makes it stand out.
What a wonderful spot. Flawless execution and amazing staff. A must go to as a local or visitor alike!
First, we love Tulio's. However, this experience was average. The ambiance is always great. The setting is welcoming and romantic Our service was average. Polite, but not personal. There was a wait for our cocktails and then our food arrived when we only halfway through our initial drink. The big disappointment was the Kurobuta Pork Shank. The cooking process for the shank is lengthy and it would be expected to have this made ahead of time. But each of our shanks was only reheated to a tepidly warm temperature. Enough to be warm enough to eat, but not warm enough to bring out the fall off the bone tenderness and the wonderful gelatinous texture of the shank tendon. Bread service seemed to be an after thought. The best part of the meal was the mashed potatoes.
So, we love Tulio's and we will be back. Just hope the next time is better.
medium cost that makes a business lunch enjoyable instead a game of who pays the bill. not too noisy and a good combination of healthy and more traditional fare! they always preform well. consistently excellent service.
The restaurant is beautiful and quiet. The food was very good and the staff overall was attentive.
Very good! Staff was knowledgeable about what I could eat for gluten free and it was delicious!
Amazing! Would not only go agai but recommend it to anyone!
Environment was very calm, it’s a perfect place to spend time with the one you love. Would definitely recommend
Food service was fast but felt like we were supposed to leave soon.
We had a great dinner and they got us out in time for our show. This will be a 'go-to' in the future for dinner or even a quick dink
Love love love this restaurant. Was highly recommended and couldn’t agree more. And the BEST CALAMARI ever had. great food. super service! will be back as often as i can get back up to Seattle!
