Soup and salad were delicious, but not the poached pear. They kindly replaced it with a fabulous pistachio semifredo We would definitely come again.
This is our third time eating at Tulio and the food and the service are still great. We ate here when we were married 24 years ago and plan to celebrate our 25th anniversary at Tulio.
This is one of my fav restaurants. Orichette was not as good as usual, but the Gnocchi was excellent as usual. Lamb also great. This is a great date night place.
Everything. Through the door to out the door, everything was wonderful. Rodrigo took care of us in the manner of someone who considers their job a profession. Thank you.
My boyfriend and I went to celebrate our 1 year anniversary and we were treated like royalty! We had our own reserved, spacious booth with two roses on the table. The drinks and food were delicious and our server was so attentive to us and our needs all night. At the end of the meal, our waiter presented us with a Tiramisu dessert and well wishes for our future as a couple. So sweet! We will definitely be coming back for future occasions!
I've been to Tulio many times for lunch. It's a great place for a business lunch. However, this time they were unusually crowded which I think affected our experience. The service was slow and spotty. I had to ask what the specials were; typically the server let's us know. I ordered the fish special - Ahi tuna over a salad. I asked for the tuna to be seared rare; it was overcooked. If time wasn't an issue I would have sent it back.
The entire experience felt rushed. Again, I think this was due to how crowded they were as this was not the experience I normally have.
Best Italian I’ve had in a long, long time. Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere and ambiance.
Very limited menu.
Birthday lunch. Great complimentary slice of cake with a candle.
Had a good New Years dinner at Tulio. Although the menu was limited the choices available were good. On this particular evening we had a starter of braised radicchio salad, then proceeded to main courses of roasted chicken with lemon rissoto, and roasted kurobuta pork shank with whipped truffled potatoes. The restaurant was accommodating, as they made the pork shank as sugar free as possible. For dessert, the wife had the tiramisu, which I understand was outstanding. It was the service which was superb! Our server ensured we had proper service while waiting for meals, and had great timing between courses. She was very engaging, making a Hawai’i connection with herself. We would have loved to try their regular menu...maybe a good excuse to visit Seattle again...soon.
Good food and wine. Nice atmosphere, limited menu choices.
We really enjoyed our meal.....The service was a little slow but it was New Years Eve. This was our 2nd New Years Eve at Tulio!
This restaurant is a jewel for Seattle. The chef, Walter, has been there for decades, as has some of the wait staff. All are competent and willing to help each other out. Walter actually seated us as it was New Years Eve and the wait staff was slammed. He also came over to check on us and our satisfaction. The early shift maitre d is a dead ringer for Dennis Miller and all of the management staff are capable and concerned with the customers' well-being. The food is excellent and promptly served, a plus if the client is heading for the theater. Additionally, I think the prices are totally reasonable for the quality of food served and the service provided.

My favorite restaurant in Seattle
Everything was great except our server was not very good. He passed by our table often without even making eye contact to see if we needed anything. The person who delivered the food was much more accommodating. We felt rushed by him.
Not a fan of the food at all, service was nice but the hostess was condescending. Waiter was friendly though. Food was overpriced
I booked Tulio’s in advance to give my wife and mother-in-law a nice downtown Seattle experience during the holiday. Up one arriving we were lead upstairs to the overflow area, or what ever it is called. I say this because it was not the atmosphere expected when booking the reservation. When I asked if we could be seated in the restaurant I was told that most of those diners had requested main dining seating. Now whether or not they reserved prior to me and jumped me in the main floor queue is not the question. If I had been told I needed to request the main restaurant or had I been told I would be seated in the auxiliary area I would have said something. And the when I make the request at the restaurant I expect to be given some options for seating. Now I know better than to raise a big fuss in front of my family, but this complaint is allowed. While the food at Tulio’s is good, we have eaten in Italy and around the world. For us the experience and atmosphere is as rewarding. Once placed in the upstairs area, my experience was a big fat zero for the night as well as it failed to live up to what We had said would be the dining experience. I really could have been in any Italian restaurant. So my review for the restaurant this evening is a big fat you suck at it. And when the hostess seats us in an unacceptable area from the get go, a smile and a thank you upon departing rings hollow. If you want to sit upstairs in the auxiliary area, that’s fine. But it is not like being in the restaurant. Don’t follow the review advice because it isn’t valid if you sit away from the main floor, it’s just eating.
We eat at Tulios a couple of times a year and bring friends. It’s always our first choice when we come into Seattle.
I’m writing this review on behalf of the entire party. 4-ppl. My meal was 5-stars, others were really good too.
Service 5- stars. The waiter served us promptly, and had the right level of service throughout the evening. She even checked in on a drink from the menu and replaced it for me when I said I didn’t like it. I really tried to like it but it wasn’t for me. For what it’s worth, I went with a makers mark old fashioned after and it was really well made.
Food 4+ stars. For me this was my favorite meal of my annual Christmas trip here and I ate at Spinasse the night before.
1). Sweet potato gnocchi 5*. Amazing. Great flavor, nice soft center with a crispy side. It was really good progressive take on gnocchi.
2). Chicken and risotto. 5*. Perfectly cooked for both parts. The chicken had a crispy skin with garlic sage under the skin for nice flavor.
3). Parpadelle + the orecchiette sauce and meat. 4.5*. This blend was at the recommendation of the waiter and it was really good. The best pasta and a bold sauce and meat.
4). Parpadelle. 3.5-4*. Well executed but I was seeking more flavor.
5). Duckling. 3.5*. I didn’t taste this but my friend did and he said it was good, but he has had better and recommended a French place instead for duck.
6). Desserts. We ordered three different ones. I won’t go into detail but the desserts were really good.
7). Corkage. This is always a plus for me.
I will be back next time I’m in town.
Nice restaurant. Good service. Pleasant ambiance. Handy location near 5th Ave. Theater.
A little expensive, and smallish servings. Tasty food. Was very nice for our anniversary dinner and show at the theater.
Excellent experience. An absolutely delicious meal!
Food was either undercooked and sent back or cold to begin with. Service was abrupt. Quality below average. Reservation request of any table except one in the main thoroughfare was ignored.
Reliably good food and outstanding service. Small place
with old school vibe. A bit shabby, needs an update all around.
Great food. Good prep good service. Nice place would go again
A holiday tradition for us. Great food, outstanding atmosphere and service.
Best mashed potatoes that I have ever had! Great duck too.
Tulio was the perfect, festive spot for a pre-Christmas dinner with friends. The food was delicious, the service couldn't have been more attentive and the atmosphere was warm and comforting. A cozy booth, made the experience all the better. Love that validated parking is available at a discount on site.
Another nice anniversary, no guests this time but still a nice night out!
They were very accommodating when we needed to add a 5th person to our 4 person reservation the day prior, even though they were "sold out". Great food. Service was excellent once our order was taken. They were very busy. Noise level was LOUD, which open table chooses to euphemistically label "energetic". It's the holidays, it was crowded, so noise level could be expected to be greater than normal.
Outstanding food, waiter was friendly but a little scattered. Kept forgetting one of our requests. Hyped up the special dessert which we ordered, only to return saying they are fresh out.
The whole menu is great. Butternut squash and butter soup was the best!
I have been to this restaurants many times as it is near my home and work. 4 times in the last month for a fact. However this time the service was terrible. The waiter kept rushing us through the meal. Would not refill our waters and then he left and no one was there to take care of our table. Then when we flagged someone down she was very short with us and just handed us the bill. This was suppose to be my best friend's birthday lunch and it was just terrible.
Loved walking in after along absence. Felt like coming home. Great food, drink and personality.
We felt welcome by the staff with their warm greeting and excelkent service when we walked into the restaurant until we were finished with our meal. Our server, Shawn, was attentive and friendly, making sure that our food was prepared to our satisfaction. The food was delicious and healthy.
Truly an unforgetable dining experience.
We arrived 30 minutes late to our reservation because of traffic and had to be out the door again quickly (45 min) for an event. We were still accommodated politely in every way and the food and service were impeccable and we left right on time without even feeling rushed. I can’t wait to go back.
Tulios was just what we were looking for to have a girlfriend Christmas celebration. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. The holiday decorations were so lovely. The food was DELICIOUS and the waiter was very attentive and gave us great service. We all agreed we would be back again soon.
Tulio made our daughter's 16th birthday very special and personal complete with a welcome from the staff, complimentary mocktails for the kids and a special dessert. The food was awesome, service great, and the atmosphere cozy and lovely. Thanks, Tulio! See you next year for her 17th!
We love Tulios because it always delivers high quality, seasonal food. The waiters that we have had recognize us since we’ve been there so often!
Tulio never disappoints. You must have the Sweet Potato Gnocchi appetizer for your table. All the pastas are delicious, but the pork shank is insane. Enjoy!
