Tilikum Place Cafe
Lovely dining experience! Everything was exceptional, from the food to the friendly service. Definitely recommend this restaurant when you are in Seattle.
Service is very slow, our server is not attentive at all, waited for 20 minutes to get orders in, 45 mintues for our coffee and ran out of water without refills. Food is just ok but not that impressive at all.
Don't waste your time, try somewhere else
We went in for brunch on a busy weekend. The hostess was friendly and polite, and had us to our table within a couple minutes of our arrival. Our food was excellent, and we saw several other appealing options for a follow up visit!
The service that we received from one employee there was unacceptable. She was rude when she took our orders - she did not say anything to us, even though she sweetly asked other tables around us "Do you have any questions about the menu?" and made small talk with them. She just wrote down our orders and rudely and abruptly grabbed the menus away from our table and left without a word. My table was a table of three Chinese people ( we are all born and raised in the US) and everyone else around us was Caucasian. She clearly had a problem with us. All the other servers were very nice and accommodating to us. I will not be returning to this place and will not be recommending it to anyone.
The menu is limited and changes frequently- everything was absolutely delicious! Best pork I’ve ever tasted anywhere. Relaxed, comfortable vibe.
Was not acknowledged by restaurant
This is, without a doubt, the best neighborhood restaurant in Seattle.
It made me feel like I was in Europe, the smell of the food, the beautiful plated entrees, the palate was happy, the tummy in paradise (and I am from Hawaii). Very friendly service, and fun to look out the big scenic windows onto a cozy street with lots of leaves blowing around. So cozy!!!
My sister had a poached egg on a thick slice of toast which is soaked in red wine, and I ordered a crab quiche. I love both of them. Elegant flavor.
Brought out of town friends to Tilikum Cafe for dinner. It's our favorite restaurant in Seattle and they loved it. No fancy a
mbiance or view. Just beautifully prepared food.
Wonderfully prepared food, warm, friendly environment that inspires loyality. The kind of restaurant you want to bring your out of town friend to.
Celebrated my wife’s birthday at Tilikum, and we had the most wonderful waitress Mima. She was hilarious and added an extra layer of dry wit to the exquisite food offerings.
Food is superb! Not cheap but not pricey either. Service was not as quick, but we came at a busy time. Reservation is hard to get, sometimes even in advance. But we ended up getting one after checking for cancelations from time to time. I would definitely dine again.
Excellent as always! This is our go to place to take out of town guests for brunch!
Not many good options for vegetarians. They had this really good vegetarian omelet a month ago and I loved it. Booked this place like weeks in advance for that omelet just to find out they don't have vegetarian omelet anymore!
I don’t normally write reviews but I must this time. The entire experience was really wonderful. The staff was first rate and the food was out of this world. Delicious blend of sauce with the fish and vegetable side. Maybe the most delicious meal of my life! Go there and be wowed by the nuanced flavors on your palette.
I've eaten at Tilikum many times. Tonight the service was not as good as usual. One of the servers, a long time employee, focused on talking with friends at one table the entire time I was in the restaurant, meaning the one other server had to pick up the slack (it was late-ish and the restaurant wasn't terribly busy, but still). And as a result the one person wasn't able to serve the remaining guests as well as she might otherwise have done. Other than that the service was slower than usual, the food was just as good.
I've only been to Tilkum Place Cafe for dinner so this was my first lunch visit. We had 12:30 reservations and it was about 20 minutes before our server came to our table. She must have been slammed, but we're paying customers having a business lunch and time was a factor for us.
They offer a sandwich as a daily special which they were out of sandwich. There are two other unique sandwiches on the menu, which I wasn't in the mood for. My lunch mate asked for tomatoes or avocado with the mixed lettuce salad and they accommodated with slight hesitation from our server.
This experience was mediocre. I would go back to try their Dutch Babies or for brunch or dinner. I wouldn't go for lunch.
quaint small restaurant near Seattle Center. Excellent food and is one of our go to restaurants. Highly recommend!
Tried the mushroom sandwich, classic dutch baby and savory Dutch baby. Everything was delicious and priced incredibly reasonably.
Tilikum Place is always a treat. The food is wonderful, and very consistent. The menu remains small, but I think it would be hard for anyone not find something they like. I'd say the same of the wine list: short, but perfect.
Long may they wave.
This was my second visit to Tilikum, the quality, freshness, and flavor of the food is perfect every time, service is impeccable. This is my favorite place to eat when I visit Seattle, or let me put it this way, I reserve a table at Tilikum before I book my flight and hotel:-))
We went to Tilikum Place Cafe five years ago and this time it was perhaps even better. Recommend it highly!
it's our favorite neighborhood restaurant. the food is a bit pricey, but the quality is excellent. the staff is very friendly. always has an excellent seafood/fish item on the menu.
Great food! We had four in our party and the food was awesome as well as the service!
Great food, wonderful service, terrific ambiance. My favorite restaurant in town.
Everything was wonderful with amazing attention to detail on food served. I would appreciate adding a ‘half sandwich/ soup combo’ though, many people have small appetites.
Amazing food and service. Loved everything about this place!!!!!
excellent kitchen with service to back it up. Great dining experience
Good, menus not huge, interesting specials. Service is good especially considering how busy the place always is.
Very pleasant, warm and professional service from front person to server to rest of staff. Loved the pork burrito special and the savory tart. Would love to try for dinner as well.
A local favorite and one of the best restaurants in Seattle. Enjoy!!
Limited menu but the food is good. Great for a late meal.
The french press coffee and breakfast plate were outstanding.
The food was good, but I’m not sure I’d go back given all of the alternative options in the area. There was a mixup and we got the wrong Dutch baby. Ours went to a nearby table. Instead of having no Dutch baby we said we’d take the alternative one, but I expected our bill to reflect that we didn’t get what we ordered. Our meal took nearly two hours. In that time we were never offered drink refills, had to ask for utensils, and had a pile of syrupy napkins used to clean up a spill sit on our table for 30 minutes before they were cleared. I had high hopes, but the dining experience was disappointing given all of the hype.
I reserved here two weeks ago and great choice. I had breakfast with baked bean, ratatouille, and dutch baby. Their all food is really delicious!! Price is so reasonable and I would definitely come back to try other dishes.
The staff was very inattentive and provided poor customer service. The food was subpar and not worth the exorbitant amount they charge. Overall, this is not a place I would recommend to anyone if you want waiters to pay attention to your requests or have a serving that fills you up.
Fine dining cafe, interesting food choices. A little pricey for our usual preferences. French onion soup is a highlight. Will maybe come by in an afternoon for pastries and ice cream, which looked great but we didn't have.
Consistently great! Food tasted great and friendly service makes this place a very reliable choice.
The handout pasta and french onion soup were fabulous! And my husband's pan-seared chicken was great as well. Highly recommend.
