Three Dots and a Dash
Must be 21 years of age or older to enter.
Went there for my sister birthday we had a blast drinks were great food was delicious and service was excellent we enjoyed ourselves
We love Three Dots and a Dash. Each time we have come to Chicago, we go here because the ambiance and service has been outstanding. My husband and I are on a tiki bar kick, and this place does not disappoint with tiki flavor, kitsch, and drinks. We will continue to visit when in town, and bring guests when we can!
Really awesome experience! The tiki theme is perfectly executed. The drinks were phenomenal and the service was superb. A new Chicago tradition!
The food was Delicious! The drinks were presentable.
Great tiki bar! Good drinks and fantastic atmosphere
I've been wanting to go here for ages and it was everything I expected. Drinks are on the pricey side, but exquisitely made. For the special occasion, I'd highly recommend it!
what an amazing dining experience! Great drinks and the food was so amazing as well!
This was my fouth try to get inside. Finalky made it and I dont get it. The drinks were very overpriced for the amount and quality. I felt the space was lacking on decor and originality. Host was very nice , the bartender had zero personality. I'm glad I went once, but would not hurry back. I then went out to Hala Kahiki and had a blast.
Food and drinks were AMAZING! Server did not seem enthused and wasn't super friendly but wasn't rude. Would definitely go back! Atmosphere is so fun!
Way too noisy and packed. More like a club than a Tiki bar. Drinks were good but not amazing.
I took a small group here to celebrate my birthday on a Saturday night and really enjoyed myself. Everything from the low-key alley entrance to the tiki drums and lounge music that was playing when we arrived made the place feel like a hidden oasis. The food was delicious (we ordered the pu pu platter) and the drinks were great, albeit on the expensive side. Alas, you come for the experience, so it was worth it in the end. Service was pleasant, no complaints there. I will say, the only reason this review is 4 stars instead of a solid 5 is that at a certain point in the evening they change the tiki music to pop club hits and the volume amps up dramatically. Good for a young party crowd, but made it impossible to hear the others at my table. Alas, you can't be everything for everyone. Left around 10:30pm and the line to get in stretched all the way to the street. Go earlier and enjoy the vibes. I think you'll appreciate it.
Always a fun place to take friends for a celebration.
The ambiance is amazing and the server was very knowledgeable and polite. I ordered the Grand Pu Pu platter and every single item was delicious. However my only complaint is I would have liked for the temperature of my food to be hotter. Outside of that I will definitely be back.
Had an amazing experience before catching a show. Highly recommended trying the Pu Pu platter to enjoy with your cocktails.
Great ambiance. Slight mishap with the server, that left a final negative impression. Other than this it was a nice experience.
It was an amazing experience, would definitely go back next tune we’re in Chicago!
I was really disappointed with this place. I had been here previously a couple of years ago and loved it! Unfortunately it is not the same. I had to make a reservation a month ahead of time for 4:30pm on a Saturday because nothing else was available. My drink was watered down and my food came back in 5 minutes. My food was soggy which led me to believe it had been sitting out or was microwaved. So sad!
Interesting drinks and fun atmosphere. Tip, enter through the ally. We found ourselves on the main street looking for it. #speakeasy
Very accommodating everybody helpful and nice even the bouncer is a nice guy. Drinks were great food alright. Party of 5 celebrated 21st birthday had alot of fun . Would reccomend.
We made our reservations on Open Table easily. We were seated right away and our waitress explained the menu very well. The place is small so reservations are a must. The music was just the right volume. All the drinks we ordered were outstanding. Pay attention to the little skulls for potency range. The ahi poke and fried yuca were delicious and just the right portion size. The ambience is very nice, very good service, the place is very clean and enjoyable.
Great place. Drinks were great but luau bites we're the star of the show. I'll definitely be coming back next time I'm in town!
Super busy even on a Sunday night, but we are from way out of town. Super easy to enjoy the drinks, they are delicious. Had trouble finding it, but I followed some other girls.
was Amazing! Staff was super understanding about an allergy at the table, manger got a shot for the bday girl, over all fantastic service.
Drinks taste good, fruity but not too sweet. Not very boozy so probably will need more than a few to get a little buzzed. Food menu is limited but for the ones on it, they execute to almost a perfection. A bit crowded and thus hard to have a conversation but overall a good experience.
First time, but what a lovely experience it was! We have been to Hala Kahiki in Rivergrove and wanted to try a new tiki bar.
Pros: We had an early reservation at 4:00PM, a table for 6 for my Mother’s 71st birthday on a Saturday and were seated promptly upon arrival. I’d recommend a reservation if you plan on going, as there was a line outside to get in which we were thankful to bypass, those in line were limited to just the bar and standing. Our reservation was for the main dining area next to the bar. The interior is dark and would not be suited for anyone who is unable to climb a few sets of stairs or has vision issues. This wasn’t an issue for us.
Our waitress was very attentive and informative for it being our first time there. She walked us through the cocktail menu as well as the small plates menu. The drinks themselves were delightful and well made, but keep in mind you’re paying for the collective experience if the menu is a bit of a sticker shock. Single drinks vary between $12-15 per but amazing presentation and atmosphere come with the pricing. We had both a group cocktail (Shoctopus) to share as well as individual cocktails and a PuPu sampler.
Cons: The booth for a lager party is a tight fit and we were all on the smaller side, body wise. We only had 5 people instead of 6, which I feel we lucked out on as you are literally elbow to elbow in the booth, table size being extremely too small. We were nearly sitting on top of each other. It was extremely ill-suited for 5 drinks, plates food sampler. We were seated directly next to the server area and to the side of the bar, so the table location was disappointing and felt as if we were forced into a booth made to seat 4 regardless of our reservation that was made for 6 people.
Overall, I’d highly recommend TD&AD - delightful drinks and staff, food was grand and atmosphere was immersive! My only warning is to keep your party small unless you don’t mind sitting in someone’s lap the entire night.
The drinks are super interesting, but definitely don’t come here for the food.
Awesome experience. Appetizers were wonderful and drinks were off the charts
This was a fun place to meet up with friends and enjoy some appetizers and drinks. I really enjoyed myself and the atmosphere is so much fun!
My second trip to Three Dots was even better than the first. The ambiance is great and our server was so knowledgeable about the drinks and their flavor profiles. I would always recommend you make a reservation to guarantee a table.
The bouncer didn’t even let me and my friend inside for her birthday! So rude! We are 24 and 26 years old. Unbelievable. Disappointed went to a much better bar. Won’t be coming back!
Great food and drinks. People are very friendly and adult crowd makes me want to come again. Waiting staff is amazing!
Amazing drinks! The appetizers were really tasty as well, just wish they had more food to offer on the menu, but what they do serve is still exceptional.
Did not appreciate the service by the waitress and the manager and as well as the lady that was designating table seating. Very rude and inconsiderate. Will never go back!!! Recommend new management!!!
We had a great time kicking off a Bachelorette weekend! The drinks were amazing.
We had an absolute blast! We shared 2 of the Luau Luau Punch bowls and they were fantastic and the presentation was amazing! Highly recommend!!
Such a cool place. The food was ok, but the cocktails are delicious!
The ambience of this place is really exotic and fun! The presentation of the drinks was incredible! Everything was very wholesome and I would definitely come back
This was an awesome experience... And, I do mean experience. There is an unmarked door guy in the ally to greet you and usher you through a door leading to the basement establishment. It is a wonderfully ambient tiki bar with tasty drinks and lovely wait staff. The drinks are creative, beautiful and tasty... and surprisingly strong compared to some tiki drinks. They were very good, and fairly priced for how extravagant they were. The atmosphere was fantastic, a South Seas vibe, cool and dimly lit with bamboo on the walls and grass awnings over the bars. We ordered the Pu Pu Platter and it was just ok. It was excellently presented, though and that kind of made up for it.... We didn't come here for the food, anyway. You can purchase some of their glassware which is exclusively designed for this bar - but the collectible tiki glasses sell out and are kind of expensive at $60 a pop. We did buy some other exclusive merchandise. We will be definitely be back! A great experience in the heart of Chicago!
Hands down one of the best places to experience. I had a wonderful time there and the atmosphere was amazing. Everyone was kind and pleasant. The food was great and the drinks are even better. I highly recommend this as a must do.
Love this place! Make sure to make a reservation in advance if you want a table. Love the drinks and atmosphere.
