The Whale Wins
Start out your meal with an appetizer like roasted squash or house pickled vegetables. Choose from a menu that is constantly changing but always offers dishes like the salt roasted half chicken, Hama Hama clams and the 32 oz double cut ribeye. Top off your experience with a homemade dessert at The Whale Wins.
Our waitress was I’m personable and not interested in accommodating a diabetic who could not have sweets. The dessert was not described accurately and and there was an unfortunate impatience to the experience overall.
Innovative and creative food offerings, attentive but unobtrusive service. Simply wonderful.
The overhead music was too loud and a very odd mix. We enjoyed the experience otherwise.
Excellent food accompanied by impeccable service. Absolutely recommend eating here for a delicious brunch!
Great little place.
Not as good as Renee’s other restaurants. We felt it was overpriced and not great. Won’t be back.
The Whale Wins is ALWAYS worthy experience!
The Whale wins is always a good place to go. Parking is a bit of a challenge in the area, but the restaurant, especially the food and staff are second to none. It is fun to sit at the bar as the staff also interacts with you. In short I always recommend this restaurant.
Never having been there before, we were hoping for something a bit more 'cozy' and quiet to celebrate our anniversary. The staff was very accommodating in seating is in the most out of the way spot.
A long running favorite—magical every time
The broccoli carrot small plate was to die for, as were the clams and zucchini bread dessert.
Great food, great service!
Went for a bday dinner. The food was amazing and the ambiance was lovely. Would high recommend.
We had a great meal!
I was excellent food and service. Don’t go there expecting a cheap meal however
Excellent food. Attentive, yet unobtrusive service. Never felt rushed. Visiting from Portland. I'll definitely come here again!
Had been wanting to try for a long time. Interesting dishes (in a good way!) and attentive yet unobtrusive service.
This was our second trip to this place. We went opening week many years ago and it was mediocre. We have heard great things since and decided to give it another shot. That was a mistake. The small plates were super acidic and lacking texture. The chicken was good but not 32 bucks good. Waiter was great. House staff was ok. I feel like this place has been coasting since it opened.
Fun evening with good food. Bathrooms a bit of a walk
The cassoulet and wine pairing were wonderful. The music was way too loud, however, and made conversation difficult. I might not go back even though I love the food.
One of my favorite Seattle restaurants.
Food was divine, service was attentive, professional & knowledgeable
Love the feel, love the food!
Amazing. Great service, food, and atmosphere! Best restaurant experience in Seattle so far and looking forward to our return. Oh... and get the Beef Tongue.
What a lovely meal! The chef worked so hard in front of the fire grill and the food showed his work.
Food and service was great, desserts were very yummy. Down side was tables were very close together and seating was not staggered, just rows of 2 person tables lined up.
I absolutely loved the Whale Wins. The interior is ocean-inspired and modern with a nice yet casual feel. We had the beef tounge, little gem salad, and calamari. The beef tounge was outstanding and I would highly reccomend. Waitress had fantastic wine recommendations as well. I would reccoment this restaurant for any event from date night to family get-together.
Delicious, fresh food in a beautiful space. The service was great and because of the slightly higher price point, I would certainly recommend for a special occasion.
First time we’ve been disappointed with some of the dishes: salad and clams were fabulous— rest of meal was not the standard that expect from one of our favorite restaurants. Hope it improves!
The whale winds is always a great experience: great food, wonderful service. Always wonderful!
Very enjoyable dinner. All food was yummy. Service was spot on. Satisfied diners.
Everything was good, however, the bread pudding was amazing. I'm not a huge bread pudding fan and this one, wow...it was one of the best desserts I've ever tasted.
The server was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. We will most definitely be going back.
We have been many times and it was always fantastic.
The salads were both a miss. The pork chop was great.
We will not be back sorry to say.
We will miss it.
What a nice experience. Came in for an early table and enjoyed all our small plates - through to dessert.
On my favorites list for a great meal, especially for a special occasion or when a foodie is visiting from out of town.
It was unbelievable! The food...The service...everything was first class. We started with the cheese plate and moved to splitting the salads then we split the clams and chicken. There were 3 of us and we had more than enough food. Highly recommend every aspect of this restaurant
Great but unfussy food, friendly and professional service. My wife and I have dubbed the steak for two "Oh, my God Steak."
Gorgeous local ingredients—heirloom tomatoes, local cheeses a wood oven cooking chicken to perfection
And Turkey wine
