Great surrounding; mediocre to average food quality; limited selection. Perhaps the pandemic is partly to blame.
I’m really amazed how The Terrace made my birthday experience outstanding. My husband and I celebrated my special day and it proved to be the best decision we made. We ordered two appetizers, roast beets with pecan salad and the flat bread with arugula. Both tasted light and delicious. My main course was Hokkaido scallops and my husband had the vegetarian meatloaf with olive mashed potatoes. In my scallops were wild mushrooms and celery root. Both incredible. I was stuffed. Then the waiter gave me a slice of chocolate cake for my birthday which was really a very nice gesture. I didn’t get his name but he took care of us splendidly. We were stuffed and happy. Thank you so much!!!
I went to the Terrace last week expecting to sit outside, but LA County had just opened up indoor dining, so my husband and I opted for an indoor table since it was cool outside. We ended up being one of just two tables seated in the dining room, so it wasn't hard to put plenty of distance between us and the lone other diner.
The food was great. I had the Brussel Sprouts appetizer, which I loved, and my huband was a big fan of the shrimp appetizer. I am not vegan, but since I am also not a big meat eater, I was pleased to see a vegan meatloaf dinner on the menu, which was delicious and filling. My husband devoured his braised short ribs with polenta dinner. We were pretty full, so we did not try any desserts.
The service was friendly and capable. In retrospect, I suppose some low music might have been nice since it was SO quiet inside.
Great atmosphere, good service very relaxing. Food is also good.
We love coming here since it’s where we had our wedding reception while it was still a Ritz Carlton. We haven’t been here in a while and while the service and ambiance are great, the food needs improvement.
Great atmosphere! Good food and good service also.
The Langham is a world-class resort, and we had a first class dining experience at The Terrace at The Langham! Every employee we came into contact with was outstanding! They have an amazing staff! The food was delicious, we had appetizers to share, fantastic main courses, and a dessert that was out of this world! I'm not big on chocolate cake, but their chocolate cake was the best chocolate dessert I've ever tasted! One yummy course after the next, under the stars, made for an unparalled dining experience!
Resort was beautiful. Outdoor seating was very nice, next to the pool. Also very quiet and very enjoyable.
French Onion soup was great! Food was excellent. Nice quiet atmosphere. Great service. Birthday cake treat was a nice surprize!
Amazing breakfast at the Langham. Such a beautiful place! So peaceful, delicious food and fantastic service always. Will come again!
They did a great job of taking fine dining outside. Many precautions were taken to keep everyone safe and comfortable. It is a wonderful place.
Nice shaded location overlooking the pool. Food is terrific.
Beautiful ambience, excellent service, delicious food.
Despite having made a reservation, they did not have a table available for us so they ushered us to a separate section of the restaurant that was detached and so painfully empty... the food was fine but if I was going to sit in that dark, empty section—I would’ve just had take out and been comfortable at home.
We celebrated my husband’s birthday as a family. Great service and wonderful food.
Great service! Perfect for an intimate birthday celebration.
We have been guests at the Terrace for many years. It is noticeably slipping in quality and service (mostly their check-in staff). The wait staff continues to be superior. We had a large group we had to supplement with Open Table reservations from various guests staying in the hotel and the check-in folks ignored those reservation several times despite us having our extra guests waiting. The manager assisted to some extent to make it right. Food quality is OK but when your brunch charge is close to $80 per person with tax and tip, "OK" is not where you want to be. This restaurant serves the entire hotel and is small by that account so a reservation should be made. The ambiance is lovely and makes up the experience. One tip: if you want to partake in the Dim Sum portion of the brunch, don't start at 9. While their listing does indicates Dim Sum starts at 10, you could easily miss it. This is really the only show in town if you are a guest assuming you don't want to drive to another restaurant so book ahead particularly on Sunday.
Great service. Beautiful ambiance. Food was excellent.
that day service was super slow. it took forever for our food to arrive. our waiter was great but the server who poured us water and packaged my leftover was not very nice AND at the end of the meal he took my leftovers to package but never brought it back. i do like to go to the terrace still since it is inside langham and after our meal we walked around the beautiful hotel. parking is valet and of course is expensive
This is the best brunch buffet I have been to. All the food is delicious and the service is impeccable. It’s definitely expensive but worth it for a special occasion.
Our waiter was excellent! The hostess, well, she should have taken the day off or worked in the kitchen on this particular day. Working with the public was not her strong suit at all, no matter how well she dressed for the position.
The Langham is amazing, through and through. Our dinner at the Terrace was wonderful and our server Armando was the best. The clam chowder, steak, and pork belly was perfect. The Cabernet Armando recommended was lovely, and our cocktails were great too! My favorite place in the world!
Dine LA 2020, great dishes and great value
The food was less than average. It was my friends birthday. I will not be eating here again anytime soon..
The food was OK, but the service was very poor. Our young nephew's hamburger came, but he had already eaten most of it before the catsup arrived. The entire lunch was a long wait, but this was not the fault of the servers. They were working very hard, but they did not have enough help. We would hesitate before coming here again or recommending it to others.
We went for New Years, which was a prix-fixe menu. We knew that in advance, but not what was on the menu or how much it was. The food was NOT good - incredibly mediocre, and not a fabulous selection in my opinion. And we ended up having to sit outside by the pool because there "wasn't room inside" without a wait, even though we had a reservation. There were heat lamps but it was still very cold. Service was OK, not exceptional. And then when the bill came we nearly fell out of our chairs. Most expensive meal we've had in a long time and absolutely the worst food we've had in recent memory. We wanted to have a special last meal for 2019, and instead, we will just remember it for how bad it was. We will not be going back.
New Year’s Eve. Food was good but not great. Service was excellent. I love the Langham so had a great time regardless.
My wife and I were having dinner there on NY eve so my poor review might not be the norm. It took us almost 3 hrs to eat. Service was slow at best. The menus was preset with some really odd choices. The selections were so weird we didn’t eat half of our selections. It was like they’re going for unusual rather than tastes good. For $110 PP , the food was too unique for us. We only had two choices for each course, crazy taste and crazier. The staff didn’t even say anything when they removed or uneaten dishes. Stay away on a busy night.
I love The Terrace at The Langham. It is consistently delicious with minor seasonal changes to the menu. The service is always first-rate! I know that I am going to have a lovely time whenever I visit The Langham.
Just what we wanted - quiet, excellent service, able to talk and catch up.
We thoroughly enjoyed brunch at the Terrace in the Langham Pasadena. We were with long time friends to catch up & the servers took care of us at every turn - even made us a plate of dim sum because we were there too early for that buffet. Above & beyond! Flavors for a buffet were top notch. Truly an amazing venue & thoughtful staff - definitely give this place a try ❤️
Everything was wonderful but I’m worried because even after a reservation on Open Table, they couldn’t find our reservation on their computers. Nonetheless everything was flawless from the service to the ambience to the food up to the dessert!!
Everything was just perfect! Service from everyone was outstanding!
The food options were not the greatest--turkey, duck, ham and veggie. There was not red meat or fish option. After paying $85, you'd expect it. Also, the entertainment was not enjoyable.
Ordinary food served overcooked. Cold, late. Ham and turkey for that price??? Room jam packed and noisy. Very disappointing Christmas eve dinner. Not Langham quality.
We had a lovely time visiting Terrace for the first time! We can’t wait to come back.
The food was good. Filet, and the crab salad. Quality ingredients with nice plating, although the salad was odd. On one half of the plate was the crab, cucumber, et cetera, and on the other side of the plate was a 1/4 wedge of iceberg lettuce. No creativity at all. Kind of like, here's your plate of ingredients. You figure it out.
Fabulous food and comfortable setting
Celebrated holiday brunch with a friend. Very enjoyable. Loved all the different Christmas trees
