My group chose a family style dinner, sharing 5 appetizers (lobster/shrimp spring rolls and assorted dumplings) and a duck dinner for 2. All very unique and delicious. The desserts we tried, 15-layer carrot cake and warm chocolate chip cookies were excellent.

Brunch Never disappoints, but this last time, it was absolutely amazing. We celebrated 2 birthdays and our waiter, Jenardo couldn’t have made our experience more memorable. We loved everything, but most of all we loved how special he made us all feel! Highly recommend this place to everyone I know.

Overall the food and service were great. Really liked the nouveau take on dim sum. The ingredient and taste combinations were a delight. Would have given the restaurant five stars overall but for the fact that we had trouble trying to open the front door and had to go to the rear door to gain entry. The whole time we were struggling with the door the hostess just sat there and watched and didn’t bother to help. When we got inside, we were told the door had a tendency to “stick”. While we had lunch, we saw two other sets of customers try and failed to open the front door. Again, the hostess just sat and watch, and these customers had to go to the rear door to gain entry. Turns out the “sticking” door was locked. You would think the hostess would have wanted to welcome customers.

Great food and ambiance. Although time to get food was incredibly slow for a late Weds lunch (starting at 1pm).We did receive in on the house appetizer as a good gesture. But don’t know why the kitchen would’ve been backed up at that time.

I’m not usually a sauce girl, but this restaurant does it right. Each sauce was perfectly curated to the array of dumplings we ordered but tasty enough to mix and find new pairings. A fun experience for our Valentines Day!

My wife, who is Taiwanese, says that this is really a Taiwanese restaurant. Otherwise, we would call it the best Chinese restaurant in the DC area (sorry, Peter Chang!). The dishes are subtle and sophisticated, rather than fried and overwhelmingly spicy. For the appetizers, the wontons and lobster spring rolls were great. We had the full duck for the main course, and while it may not have been as large as the "show duck" that they bring around before cooking, it was nevertheless large enough that we had to take the leftovers home. Also, a shout out for their cocktails, which are outstanding. The "Bullet in the Head" is so good that I tried to reverse engineer it at home.

Took a client here...dumpling sample special was delicious and unique! Chef made 5 dumplings (1 for each guest) and it was wonderful eating and talking about our favorite dumplings. We each then ordered our own entree. Chef also brought out warm chive rolls before the dumpling appetizer. Nice option to a traditional client steak house meal.

Went here for a late happy hour / early dinner. They have changed a bit since the last visit. They had lounge seats in the bar area which they now use for regular seating. It greatly reduces the bar area, especially since they have also closed the second floor of the restaurant. We did sit in seating in the bar area. The service was good. They did have oysters, which were no long on the menu. The menu was also abbreviated, as they were in the slow season and their menu does rotate. We had a few of the small item which were good as the quality and menu execution is still great. I will check back in at some point to see if their menu expands back to the variety that it had.

The Source has changed its lunch menu to be far less attractive. The new menu has limited choices, high prices for what you receive, and slow kitchen service. I would not recommend it for lunch, when previously I would highly recommend and regularly frequent it.

We've been to the Source probably two dozen times over the years. Every time we go we are treated to superb service (the staff is the best in DC; Jorge in particular always makes the evening special) and excellent food. Always something new to try as well as plenty of reliably great classic Source dishes. The wine and cocktail list is great; staff is extremely knowledgeable about both (and appropriate pairings). Great location, great ambiance, always a great night out. PS the Saturday dim sum brunch is a DC treasure.

Wow, talk about mailing it in...we went for NYE and it was a huge letdown. We know a holiday reservation can be dicey but the effort put into this experience by the team at the Source was so shockingly low. I am removing The Source as one of my go-to DC restaurants. The servers could not describe the food as it was presented nor did they have a clue about the wine pairing. Plates were removed quickly and water was refilled but there was absolutely no engagement with us other than the barest minimum. When plates were clearly not enjoyed, nothing was said or mentioned ...just took the plate and moved on to the next course. The overall quality was fine but the effort placed in the dishes was the barest of minimums; the scallops might have taken the most time for preparation. If I were to read this location was closing along with the Newseum; I cannot say I would be surprised. Our last several dining experiences here have always been solid; NYE was a huge disappointment. You are not supposed to get in the Uber and laugh at just how terribly a +$400 meal went for 2 people. Will not return; Fiola will get my downtown DC dining reservations for the future.

We dined for lunch on NYE, celebrating our courthouse wedding date and a visit to the Newseum on their closing day. I noted our special occasion in the reservation notes, and while the hostess mentioned it upon our arrival, we were seated at the least private table in the restaurant. Big disappointment, as the couple sitting next to us in the banquette, facing directly at us was dressed very casually and talking loudly about their New Years plans. Not a great environment to celebrate having just been married. Our server knew nothing about our occasion and was not very attentive at all throughout service. We consistently waited long lengths of time for basic things, and settled on a bottle of wine instead of having to flag him down constantly for cocktails. The food was amazing as usual, and did not disappoint, but overall, the front of house was extremely lackluster. Overall, we love the restaurant, but this situation left a bad taste on one of the happiest days for us.

We did not have the best table in the house, but that’s because we made our reservations earlier that same day. That was our fault, not the restaurants. That we even got into a place with this level of service and outstanding cuisine, on such short notice was our great fortune. Perhaps it was the post holiday slump, but whatever the reason, the restaurant was still fully on game. The three of us shared a variety of Asian inspired appetizers as starters, followed by the duck. Everything was crazy good. The staff must have felt pity on our having a corner seat and comped us a chocolate soufflé. It was an all-around great evening. Next time I’ll be more timely on making reservations.

Upscale Asian dining, cozy ambiance with lighting to make everyone look amazing and Shazam-worthy lounge music. Service was seamless. Unique, Asian themed cocktails. Unable to choose just one app to share, we opted for several apps and dumplings, and shared an entree. Relaxing and delightful post-holiday date night!

I ordered the Hampshire Pork Belly Dump!ings but I'm pretty sure I got the Organic Chicken Wontons in error, because it was covered in Cilantro. Either way the dough was too think and chewy. The Tuna Tartare was very nice. The outstanding g taste was the Fragrant Chili Oil Poached Flounder! It was very good; the best thing I've had in a long time! The other nice dish was the Hong Kong style King Salmon; my wife was very happy. Needless to say the cookies at dessert were fabulous!

I’ve been to The Source over a dozen times and it continues to be one of my very favorite restaurants! We started our evening at the sleek bar downstairs and I tried the bourbon drink and it was delicious! My mom and husband both enjoyed the pear drink. Once seated we started with our favorite appetizers, the tuna cones and the dumplings. My absolute favorite dumplings are the shrimp and pork. We also had the Pinot they recommended and we liked it so much that we bought some the next day. I love all the food but I do think this may have been one of our best orders to date..for our entree my husband and I split the filet, crab rice and vegetable stir fry and all was delicious!! For dessert my favorites are the carrot cake and cookies always! The service was also wonderful and our waiter Jorge was knowledgeable and charming and definitely was apart of making our evening a huge success! We will be back soon!

Had to look both ways to avoid getting run over by staff when going to the restroom. Ambiance was ok. Not as great as written about online. All in all I'd say skip it and go somewhere else.
