    thank you for the best table in the restaurant right in front of the window overlooking Union Square. It made our holiday celebration festive and perfect!!! Loved the Fig Egg Nogg and the shrimp & lobster risotto.

    The Rotunda remains a stunning setting. I have such fond memories of “City of Paris” from my girlhood. I’m so glad the glorious ceiling is still intact! The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. Very proficient and professional. The tea selection was quite limited, with on camomile as an herbal option. The cucumber sandwiches were delicious. The rest of the food was okay. The scones were a bit dry. The intimate, high backed booths kept the noise level to a very quiet level- which was fantastic!

    I had not been here in a very long time. Last time I dined here was like 20 years ago. It was my favorite restaurant in San Francisco back in the day when I worked in Union Square. So I was reminiscing. It was still delicious! The host staff & the busser were great! The server was ok. In a way I kinda felt uneasy with the subpar service. (Seemed like the other guests we’re getting better service) I ordered the sparkling wine flights but the server didn’t explain which one was which. But I think it was the manager who walked by & asked if the server had told me which one was which; I said no. So he explained it to me. I ordered the oysters & the lobster sandwich. They were both exquisite. The oysters were fresh & the sandwich full of flavor. And the home made potato chips super crispy and yummy. I didn’t finish my sandwich so I asked for a to go box. The server after a while came back w a box & a generic brown paper bag. But since she took so long the busser had already stopped by and boxed it for me and gave it back to me in a nice Neiman Marcus gift bag just like the other patrons had. (Mind you they had a different server) Regardless, in my opinion it’s still the best restaurant in the whole Bay Area!

    The food was delicious but the service at the Rotunda was not up to par. We felt rushed. The busboy removed plates and utensils while we were still eating. We had to ask him for another knife. The dessert menu was literally dropped on our table and there was only one menu even though there were 3 at our table. Two of us ordered cappuccinos but the server did not ask if we wanted dessert. The bill was presented along with our cappuccinos. Since we were celebrating a birthday we ordered a couple desserts which were added to the bill. I will definitely go back for the food and hopefully the service will be better.

    The Rotunda has just always been a consistent winner. I think it is the only consistently lovely part of Union Square these days. The menu is wonderfully tasty and the ambience just cannot be beat.

    First time for high tea. Fabulous. Every flavor popped! We enjoyed every single bite. The service was great too. Be prepared for 20% gratuity even if you are just two people.

    This is a wonderful spot for afternoon tea. Food was very tasty and surprisingly filling. Service was a little slow but no big deal. I want to come back for regular lunch service next time! Only downside is that I had to wait 45 minutes past my reservation to get the table I wanted, but they can’t control how long people sit at the tables so not a big deal.

    Wonderful day in the city. Lunch at The Rotunda was perfect. Management and servers are so professional and accommodating. We had the lobster club and grilled salmon for lunch. Very delicious meal. Enjoyed masked and atmosphere.

    We had a delightful holiday high tea experience at the Rotunda. I took my mom here for 80th birthday with my uncle and aunt and a friend. The service was absolutely amazing. Ambience, of course is absolutely gorgeous. The food was excellent. I think the sandwiches were good. Scones fresh. Loved the clotted cream and lekon curd. desserts were tasty as well and varied.

    We absolutely enjoyed the high tea experience - we have two tables nearby each other. The kids table was at the corner so they really enjoyed being by themselves. Their server was kind and thoughtful, going over the details of the items on each level of the tray and gave them an extra puff at the beginning. The adults table was located a bit closer to the center of the restaurant giving them a good view of what is going on in the restaurant. The curry and cucumber sandwiches are just right. The scones are warm and of the right texture. The top level of sweets and chocolates are all decent. Our only complaint is the fruit and flower tea - perhaps the fruit/flower flavor overpowers the tea so much that it feels like drinking perfume. The other two teas we chose, Earl Grey and black tea with strawberry are very good. This is the best high tea we had in the Bay Area.

    A beautiful space, delicious food (the broth is even divine) and attentive staff. Always fun to go and people watch as everyone is showing off their fancy hats for tea or smart outfit while have a celebratory meal. Could be quieter, if you are looking for an intimate gathering it can be tricky but for a special (or at least a fancy enough to feel special) meal it is perfect. I always enjoy my brunches there and it doesn’t hurt that when I leave I can stop by the Chanel counter.

    Tea and food was exceptional as always. Unfortunately, service was uneven (especially our main server) and not consistent with previous reservations. She did not know it was our anniversary so did not greet us, as such (even the water service recognized it was our anniversary). They also made a significant mistake with the bill and charged us for an increased amount without my expressed authorization. Service is slipping. I expect better from an establishment such as The Rotunda.
