The entire family is sure to enjoy Savannah's most intriguing & historic restaurant. At the Pirates' House, our most precious treasure is the food. Situated in Trustees Garden, merely a scant block from the Savannah River, the Famous Pirates' House is the most historic spot in Georgia. The Herb House, erected in 1734, located inside the Pirates' House, is said to be the oldest house in Georgia. The Pirates' House first opened in 1753 as an inn for seafarers and fast became a meeting point for blood-thirsty pirates & sailors. Parking on site.

I made my reservation well ahead of time. We were able to walk from our hotel and our table was ready when we arrived. The food was great and we are glad we chose The Pirates’ House.

Fun place to take the family, especially if you have younger kids who will enjoy the menu that can be turned into a pirate's hat.

Great historical location. Enjoyed learning about the house prior to dining. We were seated in a back room that seemed more like a banquet hall than any other part of the restaurant. The service was good, but there was very little interaction beyond the basic check ins. Food was ok compared to what I had anticipated. We learned nothing about the house or history while there. In fact, if it weren’t for our walk in and out and and to and from the restroom, it wouldn’t have seemed we were dining at The Pirate House at all. I had heard so many good things about the restaurant and pleasant educational interactions from other diners, that I presume we might have just visited them at an off time. Because my kids were with me, I think I just hoped for more. With all of the amazing food choices in Savannah, sadly I don’t think I’d return here.

Appetite came out quick and hot. We had the blackend shrimp and fritters. I had the salmon with a peach salsa/relish, broccolini and mashed sweet potato. I let our server pick my meal and he didn't disappoint. Daughter had fried shrimp and fries - a very generous portion of large shrimp and fries. She really enjoyed it. Husband had collard greens, mashed potato and ribs. The meat literally fell off the bone. Would definitely go back.
