The entire family is sure to enjoy Savannah's most intriguing & historic restaurant. At the Pirates' House, our most precious treasure is the food. Situated in Trustees Garden, merely a scant block from the Savannah River, the Famous Pirates' House is the most historic spot in Georgia. The Herb House, erected in 1734, located inside the Pirates' House, is said to be the oldest house in Georgia. The Pirates' House first opened in 1753 as an inn for seafarers and fast became a meeting point for blood-thirsty pirates & sailors. Enthusiastically recommended by AAA, Food & Wine and Redbook.

It’s the Pirate’s House, so you have to go, but keep your expectations of the food low. It is perfectly fine; but not great. Our service was very good. Of course, peaking at the house’s rooms was fun. Just keep your bar low for the food quality. It’s really not that great. Very nice and knowledgeable servers though.

We returned to the Pirate House after several years to find it a bit run down. Our reservations were for an in between time - the buffet breaks down at 3, and the dinner menu starts at 4. Because of this the energy was low, and the food was ok. Not really worth the money.

Great place for the kids, with pirate hats and treasure. A lot of history to explore in the oldest building in Savannah. Some tall tales are explained by plaques on the walls. Might be some ghosts lurking about. Food and service was very good. Will be back.

Kids found it novel for about 5 minutes ( menus were a hit )…the building is very cool. The food is somewhere between elemtary school cafeteria food and Applebees…everything felt contrived and low quality

We had to wait 30 minutes. I went back up to the desk as many people were being taken back before us. They for some reason had me on a waitlist even though I booked a reservation through open table. They did quickly rectify and seated us by a window. Tom was our waiter and he was excellent. Our food was delicious. I had the shrimp and grits and my husband had the filet mignon. The restaurant is apparently the oldest restaurant in Georgia.

The ribs and fried chicken were great, but the sides were okay. Our hostess and server had no personality, so we felt rushed. Very cool place to see though! It would be worth seeing at least for the fun and informative history.
