The entire family is sure to enjoy Savannah's most intriguing & historic restaurant. At the Pirates' House, our most precious treasure is the food. Situated in Trustees Garden, merely a scant block from the Savannah River, the Famous Pirates' House is the most historic spot in Georgia. The Herb House, erected in 1734, located inside the Pirates' House, is said to be the oldest house in Georgia. The Pirates' House first opened in 1753 as an inn for seafarers and fast became a meeting point for blood-thirsty pirates & sailors. Enthusiastically recommended by AAA, Food & Wine and Redbook.

A tourist trap to avoid. Our entries arrived less than 5 minutes after our salads…. No spacing between courses of mediocre food. Service was inattentive and bordering on rude. Lots of great restaurants in Savannah, so no need to waste time and money on this one.

Was disappointed that the pirates were not the waiters. Was told they only serve on weekends. Three of us , who love shrimp and grits, and have eaten them at many restaurants were disappointed in taste of the ones there. Presentation was very nice. She crab soup was the best.

Quick trip to Savannah for a few days. Our waiter was Daunte and he was a great conversationalist as well as giving suggestions what to see and do. Our tea was never less than half full before he was back with more. The buffet was delicious with something for everyone. The fried chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes and squash casserole is just like eating at grandma’s house. Bread pudding to finish off your meal and you’ll be rolling out like a fat tick.

On Feb 17th St Pattys Day had lunch. My husband And I were disappointed with the food. The service was very good Ali H. Was at our table several times to make sure everything was going well and if there was anything else we needed. We have eaten at the Pirates house before and the food was good, not great but good. There are so many restaurants in Savannah sadly the next trip will not include The Pirates House

Went for lunch buffet and it did not disappoint! All the southern fare faves, everything was delicious. Host to table was fantastic! Many compliments to our server Kim who was phenomenal and went above and beyond in hospitality for our family. Even the cashier in the Gift Shop did an excellent job! I could’ve bought one of every shirt. Will be back when back in the area!

The service and food was amazing for dinner. The server was knowledgeable and attentive and the food was amazing. The bartender however was very rude and tried to give me a beer that was in the cooler opened. When I asked for an unopened beer she was extremely rude. But besides that unpleasant experience the rest of the night was fantastic!

Very cool history and ambiance. However you get the feeling that the staff doesn't want to be there, as well, the shrimp wasn't cleaned as well as it could have been, the black digestive tract was still present.

I have been a patron of The Pirates House for many years. I was very disappointed with the limited selection on your current menu. We wanted scallops and shrimp but were told you could not get scallops. I found this odd since we were able to get scallops at another restaurant. So we both ordered the grilled shrimp and crab cake. The vegetables were cold and the shrimp were over cooked.

It was very busy because it was the weekend before St Patrick's Day and there were a lot of things going on in town. I made a reservation but we were early, I checked in and was told that they would text me when a table was available. We got our table about 45 minutes prior to our reservation. Even though they were busy the service was great. Our server was running around like crazy but we were well taken care of. The food was good but not great, it was all a little bland for our tastes. I ordered the blackened snapper for $19 and it was not blackened at all, in fact, it seemed to have very little seasoning. The cream sauce with lump crab was good but the grits below it were very dry and firm. My wife got the Chicken Gumbo with shrimp and it was also very bland. Gumbo should be full of spice and have a little kick to it. It was in a fun location, the old house is beautiful and the kids had fun but I probably wouldn't go back.

Miss Kim was awesome!! She was one of the best parts of our lunch with her suggestions, crazy hustle, pleasant demeanor and attentiveness. The food was really good too. The fried chicken is some of the best I've had, only made better with some pecan sauce she brought us to go with it. My family's only gripe was that my son wanted more shrimp because it was so good on his shrimp and grits :)

We were very disappointed. We wanted to go there because of the Trip Advisor rating and being able to see at least the entrance of the old tunnels. As it turned out, only specific tour companies have any access to even the tunnel entrances. I had ordered the Philly Cheese-steak with the homemade potato chips. I got french fries instead. The waiter refilled my glass of Coke with iced tea. He seemed very full of himself.

Great experience start to finish. Our sever, Eric, was amazing! He explained the menu thoroughly, but quickly. He was very attentive and responsive to our requests. The food was delicious and the bill was reasonable for what The Pirates House is, a well respected and popular, consistent dining experience in a tourist town.

The place is iconic. If it wasn’t we would have given it a one. Our food…all of it was cold. We ordered fried shrimp and the coating was soggy and cold. Our appetizer calamari was really good flavor but Luke warm at best. Service was okay but not great. I wouldn’t go back but because of its history you probably want to see it once. By the way in the gift shop the t-shirts are outrageously priced. Some are $40.
