Sunday Lunch
The Hind’s Head continues to celebrate British cooking and the consummate eclectic style that we have become known for. Serving a series of menus, changing and evolving on a seasonal basis.

On the ground floor, the Restaurant has been remodelled whilst conserving the historic feature and integrity of the building.

Upstairs, our guests are invited to explore the Royal Lounge bar. An opulent space, perfect to indulge in our cocktail list, refined spirits, small batch gins and our fantastic champagne and wine list combined with our new snacks menu. We would advise arriving 30 minutes before your reservation time to enjoy the full experience.

Please see the restaurant website for our current menus and bank holiday opening times.

An excellent Sunday Lunch with some of the best service you will find anywhere. There is a selection, and the vegetarian options were superb

Its only ok, its a very rich meaty menu and i think its a bit of a rip off there are better pubs in the area with less accolades

Great restaurant, food was fantastic, service was excellent but it was very cold in the restaurant and the staff weren’t really doing anything to make it warm. We took my parents here to celebrate my dad’s 70th and it was the first time they had visited, and they were looking forward to the experience, but spoke all the way home about how cold it was in the restaurant

Had the best experience here, staff were extremely friendly and professional. They all went above and beyond to make the occasion that little bit extra special.

Fantastic service and excellent cuisine. The Hinds Head has upped its game since we were last here but expect a price tag to match.

My wife and mine 3rd visit, always exceptional. One of the waiters was a little too friendly and chatty with his choice of subjects, but other than that it was great.

Was really looking forward to this but it was possibly the most disapointing Michelin star 'experience' I've ever had. We visited on Boxing Day before a flight to warmer climes from Heathrow that evening. The pub itself is lovely and obviously has history. The welcome was friendly but a bit ott for a pub. We ate from the Christmas menu and all opted for Turkey dinners. The food was good but was exactly as described and nothing more, a reasonably well cooked roast turkey dinner with nothing particularly special about it. Indeed I have had home made roasts which were just as good. The cost for three roast dinners, two pints of decent enough beer and a coke was close to £150. Perhaps I expected too much (with this being a Heston Blumenthal owned pub with a Michelin star that I am mystified how it received) but I left feeling a bit deflated and slightly ripped off.

Fabulous - really good food, great service and a really nice atmosphere. We came here for a 60th Birthday celebration and it was perfect. Yes it’s not cheap, but I actually thought it was really good value. For 4 of us, with 3 courses each, a bottle of champagne and 2 bottles of wine it was just over £100/head - I don’t think you could get much better anywhere else.

Food not as good as last year when we went. One course was forgotten completely. Long waits between service opportunities. Expensive for the experience.

We had a lovely time at The Hind’s Head and had an amazing meal. The service however was not you would expect at a one Michelin star restaurant so it was disappointing.

Good food and excellent service. Would recommend it as long as you’re prepared to pay the somewhat inflated prices because of the ‘personality’ owner!

The Restaurant was great i though the entire menu was far too heavy and some lighter options on the menus would be great , however is that time of the year. By the time the main course arrived i did not want to see more gravy.
Dessert was different very tasty.
Service was good will come back in the spring once the menu lightens up a bit!

Very disappointed with the Hinds Head. The food was simplistic, though of good quality. The cost was expensive, but the setting was pretty dreadful. Sat next to the door, next to the bar. Every time the door opened a freezing cold blast of air shot across our table, followed by people near to our table.

For the cost - not really worth it. For the location of the table - wouldn't return in case we ended up there again.

The scotch egg and mustard mayonnaise hors d'oeuvre was excellent, perfectly soft quails egg and juicy sausage meat. We then had the cauliflower cheese royale which was very enjoyable, and the monkfish a la plancha which frankly was tough and overcooked. In hindsight I wished I had sent it back as you do not expect that at a Heston restaurant when paying almost £40 for a dish. For pudding we had the chocolate wine dish with millionaire shortbread, the 'wine' was light and refreshing, the millionaire shortbread strong and rich. Very indulgent.

Have been here many times. Ambience good. Service good. Food very average. And one main course of monkfish had little fish. Pork tasteless. Steak over salty. We left thinking that it was one of the most disappointing yet most expensive meals that we’d had anywhere for quite a while.

Absolutely wonderful staff. Could not be more helpful and attentive, without being overly-so. The crab soup with sandwich was to die for! How you cram so much flavour into an espresso cup, is unbelievable. The fresh fennel on the sandwich, brings a relief to the deep creaminess of the soup. The duck with beetroot barley..... Duck cooked to perfection. Moist, pink and packing yet more flavour. However, the beetroot barley lacked the sweetness it needed. Quite sour and the barley was too firm. I know that this is the end of the beetroot season, so they will not be as sweet as in their height, but a longer slower cooking with the barley, should have helped here. Chocolate pudding for desert..... Just perfect. Never had such a light, oozing, creamy, fluffy pudding ever. I didn’t know this restaurant was owned by Heston until after the meal, but you can definitely see the influences, which is why I asked the staff. I’d definitely recommend trying this before going to the Fat Duck. Definitely a venue for a special occasion.

I visited the Hinds Head with my husband to celebrate my birthday. From our arrival we were both made to feel very special. The staff arrived at the table with a birthday card and at the end of the meal, the petit fours arrived with a candle and a birthday message. I must say the staff were very professional and friendly, as you would expect from a first class restaurant. The food was delicious, faultless and very good value for money. Fantastic experience, thank you

I could not make a reservation at The Fat Duck (which is Heston’s signature restaurant) so this is conveniently way cheaper. The entrée was exquisite (Oxtail pudding). The only thing I would complain about is the freshness of the dessert (Blueberry Trifle). It was not made that day, I could taste that. For the rest, it is excellent value for the money.
